Recreational Vehicles, LLC (Heartland
) is recalling certain 2023 Elk Ridge, Lithium, 2024 Eddie Bauer, Corterra, 2023-2024 Big Country, Big Horn, South Fork, Fuel, Gravity, Mallard, North Trail, Sundance, Milestone, Pioneer, Prowler, Torque, and Trail Runner fifth wheels and travel trailers. The LED backlight circuit board in the cooktop range may fail, causing the board to overheat.
Remedy
Dealers will disconnect and cut the circuit powering the LED backlights
and terminate the wiring, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 17, 2024. Owners may contact Heartland
customer service at 1-877-262-8032.

Description of the Defect : It has been decided that the vehicles in the recall population may have a Suburban stove with LED backlight printed circuit boards (PCB) that are not fully coated. The lack of conformal coating in the connection passages between the layers of the PCB can allow liquid from the cooktop surface to accumulate which could result in a short circuit resulting in failure of the PCB.

Description of the Cause : The PCBs did not have the correct amount of conformal coating to properly seal the circuit board from contamination. Identification of Any Warning

Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : The remedy for the defect will be to disconnect and cut the circuit
powering all of the LED backlights
and properly terminate all of the wiring. The remedy will be done at no cost to the owner. All reimbursements will be covered under Heartland
’s general reimbursement plan. This will be done at no cost to the owner. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The new stoves coming from the supplier (Suburban) will not have LED lights behind the knobs for the range or oven. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : As of 3-5-2024 Suburban has supplied ranges and ovens without LED lights behind the knobs.

The lack of conformal coating in the connection passages between the layers of the PCB can allow liquid from the cooktop surface to accumulate which could result in a short circuit resulting in failure of the PCB.

Description of Remedy Program : There are two remedies for this issue. The LED backlights
can be removed
from the range or the circuit powering the LED backlights
can be cut and properly terminated. All reimbursements will be covered under Heartland
’s general reimbursement plan. This will be done at no cost to the owner. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The new stoves coming from the supplier (Suburban) will not have LED lights behind the knobs for the range or oven. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : As of 3-5-2024 Suburban has supplied ranges and ovens without LED lights behind the knobs.
