Chronology :
December 2023 – January 2023: Braun experienced field issues with Weldon node 6060-2010-00 and firmware. After investigation and review, the decision was made to replace the high content nodes in the field in February 2024. This required a firmware update coupled with replacing nodes. These nodes were produced and installed in the same time frame called out in Weldon recall 24E-006. Braun issued recall 24V-082 to address the reported field failure concerns with the nodes and firmware in question. The recall remedy included replacing the 6060-2010-00 node with a 6060-2010-01 and installation of updated firmware. Braun was contacted by NHTSA regarding filing a separate recall corresponding to Weldon recall 24E-006 in April 2024. Both recalls from Braun and Weldon have the same remedy but were called out as addressing different issues. Braun reviewed the recall and made the decision on April 29th, 2024 to file an additional recall regarding Weldon recall 24E-006 due to the nature of the potential failures, increased risk of heat related damage and fire. The recall will remedy the known field issues and proactively address in the vehicles with this revision node that have not experienced an of reported issues. 29 total vehicles are impacted. This recall population consists of the same vehicles in Braun recall 24V-082.
