Summary
Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corp. (KME) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Predator fire trucks. The incorrect relay valve may have been installed, which can prevent the park brake from engaging and allow the vehicle to roll away. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, “Air Brake Systems.”
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the relay valve as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 17, 2024. Owners may contact KME customer service at 1-800-235-3928.

May 15, 2024 – Risk assessment completed. Stop ship issued.
May 17, 2024 – Escalated the issue to REV Group Management.
May 21, 2024 – REV’s senior leadership approved a voluntary recall for this issue.

Description of Remedy Program : The affected vehicles will have the relay valve inspected and replaced as
necessary. This will be covered under the normal warranty process. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component :
Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : The remedy would consist of installing the design intended valve. A quality alert was implemented into production on May 13, 2024. Stop ship issued on May 15, 2024. Recall Schedule :
Description of Recall Schedule : KME intends to begin distributing Owner Notifications by the week of
June 17th.
