Mack Trucks

) is recalling certain 2025 Anthem and Pinnacle trucks. The tie rod assemblies may contain an improperly heat-treated ball stud that can fail, resulting in a sudden loss of steering control.
Remedy
Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy has been completed. Dealers will inspect and replace the tie rod ends as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 5, 2024. Owners may contact Mack

Description
Vehicles may have been built with tie rod assemblies containing a ball stud with improper heat treatment. Failure of the ball stud could result in a sudden loss of steering which increases the risk of a crash. Owners will be notified and strongly recommended not to drive their vehicles until recall repairs have been completed.
There have been no field reports, warranty claims or customer complaints associated with this issue.
The remedy will be to inspect the tie rod assembly for the impacted date range. Any suspect tie rod assemblies will be replaced.

Anthem and Pinnacle model vehicles manufactured April 29, 2024 through May 29, 2024.

Dealer Responsibilities
- The National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act and Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Act require dealers to ensure that all new and used vehicles are free of safety defects and comply with all relevant safety standards at the time of delivery to the consumer.
- Dealers should make their personnel aware of the safety recall. In the event that a dealer has a vehicle included in the safety recall in their inventory to be sold, the condition must be corrected before releasing it to a customer.
Notification Release Schedule
- Vehicle list will be posted on the Trucks Dealer Portal June 10, 2024.
- Owner notification letters will be released on or before June 20, 2024.
- Repair Instruction will be released once they are available.

Incorporated, that they received experimental ball studs in error from their Tier 2 Supplier. Mack Trucks
initiates efforts to identify vehicles impacted by this issue.
June 7, 2023: Product Safety Committee meets and determines that a product safety defect exists. The committee also determined that owners must be notified and strongly recommended to not drive their vehicles until repairs have been completed.
There have been no accidents or injuries associated with this issue, there have been no warranty, or customer complaints.
