Fuel Filter Hoses May Disconnect and Leak Fuel
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. Additionally, a lack of fuel can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

Summary
New Flyer
of America, Inc. (New Flyer
) is recalling certain 2023 XD35, XD40, and XD60 vehicles equipped with certain Cummins
L9
diesel engines. The remote fuel filter hoses may become separated from the fitting, which can result in a fuel leak and a lack of fuel supply to the engine.
Remedy
Cummins
will replace the fuel filter hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 21, 2024. Owners may contact New Flyer
customer service at 1-800-241-2947.

engines equipped with a remote Stage 2 fuel filter (Cummins
Option Numbers FF90943 and FF90944), which includes two pressurized fuel hoses. This recall consists of the vehicle population which has the engines sold to New Flyer
and were installed in Xcelsior buses, based on engine serial numbers (SNs) provided by Cummins
. As reported by Cummins
in 24E038, the remedy component has an improved crimp and different date codes. Remedy hoses will have a date code of 230310 (YYMMDD format) and later. Affected population:

Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : As reported by Cummins
in 24E038, Cummins
will conduct the campaign,
notify customers, supply the remedy, and provide quarterly/annual completion reports. The remedy is to replace the two subject fuel hoses with hoses having improved connector crimps. New Flyer
and Cummins
request to be exempt from providing notification of a reimbursement plan. Any pre-notification product failure would have been replaced under the manufacturer’s limited warranty. Accordingly, no person would be eligible for reimbursement pursuant to 573.13. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : As reported by Cummins
in 24E038, the remedy component has an improved crimp and different date codes. Remedy hoses will have a date code of 230310 (YYMMDD format) and later.
