Incorrect Spare Tire Installed/FMVSS 110
Referring to the placard, the operator can inflate the tire to an incorrect pressure, increasing the risk of a crash.

Summary
Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2024 Jay Feather travel trailers. A14-inch spare tire was mistakenly installed when the tire placard information is based on a 15-inch tire. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, “Tire Selection and Rims.”
Remedy
Dealers will replace the spare tire, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 19, 2024. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco’s number for this recall is 9901609.

Chronology :
On May 21, 2024 production emailed Jayco compliance that certain Jayco Jayfeather units were built with the incorrect spare tire installed. Upon investigation found that, we were in fact installing a 14” spare tire instead of a 15” on the Jayfeather (JR) 29QBH models.
On May 28, 2024 the Warranty Incident Review Committee (WIRC) discussed the incident and determined it should be elevated to CPAC.
On June 5, 2024 the Corrective and Preventive Action Committee (CPAC) met to discuss this incident and elevated it to the Safety Steering Committee.
On June 7, 2024 the Safety Steering Committee voted in favor of proceeding with a noncompliance recall for failing to comply with FMVSS number 110, “Tire Selection and Rims”.

Certain 2024 Jay Feather TT model (JR) 29QBH had incorrect 14” spare tires installed in production instead of the correct 15” spare tires. The installed spare tire differs in size and required inflation pressure from the information on the tire placard. These trailers fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 110, “Tire selection and rims and motor home/recreation vehicle trailer load carrying capacity information for motor vehicles with a GVWR less than 4,536 kilograms (10,000 pounds) or less”. spare tire. Repairs made prior to the recall will be reimbursed in accordance with our Recall Reimbursement Plan on file with NHTSA. There are no warranty claims or complaints associated with this recall. Jayco Inc. will be reporting the quarterly completion rates to NHTSA. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component :
Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : Remedied units will have the correct 15” spare tire. The Jay feather model (JR) 29QBH built after May 21, 2024 will have the correct 15” spare tire installed in production.
