Summary

Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC (Heartland) is recalling certain 2019 Prowler and Trail Runner recreational trailers. The Federal Certification Label may contain incorrect tire size, load range and tire pressure information. As such, these trailers fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, “Tire Selection and Rims.”

 

Remedy

Heartland has notified owners and provided replacement certification labels, free of charge. The recall began February 14, 2019. Owners may contact Heartland customer service at 1-877-262-8032. Heartland’s number for this recall is 99.01.45.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Heartland RV

(“Heartland”) has decided that certain Travel Trailers do not conform to 49 CFR Part 567 – Certification. And Federal Motor Vehicle

Safety Standard 110 – “Tire Selection”.   On the vehicles subject to this recall, the Federal Certification Label may contain incorrect Tire size & Tire load information. We apologize for any inconvenience this action may cause you, however your safety and continued satisfaction are of the utmost importance to us.

Reason for this recall	It has been decided that the travel trailers subject to this recall campaign may contain incorrect Tire pressure information listed on the certification label, due to a clerical error. Although the information on the vehicle labels may be incorrect, tires of the correct size and rating were installed on your trailer. If a trailer is labeled incorrectly, the potential for improper inflation of the existing tires exists. Under inflation could result in overloading of the trailer tires which could result in poor handling and increased risk of an accident.
What we will do	Heartland has included the label with this letter along with instructions on how to replace it. If you do not wish to do this yourself Heartland will have an authorized dealer or repair center replace the Federal Certification Label and Tire Placard. This will be corrected at no expense to you, the owner. This recall should take 30 minutes to complete.
What we need you to do	At your earliest convenience, Please contact your local dealer to set up an appointment to have this inspected and if needed corrected immediately, this service will be performed free of charge.  You will need the following information for the phone call: VIN of your travel trailer Name, Address, and Phone Number

Federal regulations require that any vehicle lessor receiving this recall notice must forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within ten days.
