Fuel Pump may Leak at Electrical Connection
A fuel pump leak from around the electrical connection area has an increased risk of a fire.

Summary
KYMCO USA (KYMCO) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Like 150i motorcycles. The fuel pump may leak fuel from the electrical connection area when the tank is full.
Remedy
KYMCO will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. The recall began March 19, 2019. Owners may contact KYMCO customer service at 1-888-235-3417.

LIKE 150I FUEL PUMP REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE
Step: 1
Tools needed: Phillips head screwdriver, flat screwdriver, 8mm & 10mm socket w/ ratchet, a torque wrench with a usable range of 0-30 lbf.in w/ 7mm socket, and a 6” scale.
Step: 2
Remove the fuel pump cover using the Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the 2 screws on the cover and use a flat screwdriver to open the cover.
Step: 3
Remove the right rail using the Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the screw on the rear end of the right rail and the right side of the leg shield as indicated in figure “A”. Use the flat screwdriver to open the plastic buttons as indicated in figure “B”.
Push the right rail forward and remove the right rail.
Step: 4
Disconnect the coupler of the fuel pump terminal. Use the flat screwdriver to disconnect the fuel pump terminal coupler and push forward to release the main wiring.
Step: 5
To remove the fuel pump, loosen the high-pressure fuel tube clamp and remove the fuel tube. Remove the 6 screws and take out the fuel pump. Insert fuel pump replacement, tighten the six screws with the sequence marked 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → 5 → 6 at torque 25±5 lbf-in. Position the fuel line back in place and tighten the clamp to 18-23 lbf-in, the clamp end should expose 7 steps (measured at approximately 9/16”). Please confirm the torque by hand pulling as an extra precaution.

Testing the fuel pump replacement:
Turn on the main switch, start the engine, let the unit idle for about 2 minutes, open the throttle slightly, check for leaks, if no leak is present after 5 minutes, re-assemble the unit.

Voluntary Safety Recall: KYMCO Like 150i, Potential leaking from the high- pressure electric fuel pump.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
What is the reason for this notice?
Kwang Yang Motor Co., Ltd. (KYMCO) is voluntarily recalling all 2018 model year and select 2019 model year “Like 150i” units. These units have a high-pressure electric fuel pump that may leak fuel through the rubber plug around the electrical wiring inside the fuel pump when the fuel tank is overfilled. When overfilled, the high pressure in the tank may result in leaking fuel and potential fire.
What your Dealer will do.
Your KYMCO Dealer will repair your vehicle free of charge for parts and labor. Repair will include the replacement of the Fuel Pump. The replacement of this component will take up to one (1) hour.
What you should do.
You must cease operation of this vehicle immediately and schedule an appointment for the repair of your vehicle with an authorized KYMCO dealer as soon as possible.
