Summary

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2019 Crossroad Redwood recreational trailers, equipped with MORryde Rubber Pin Boxes. The pin box mounting bolts may have been insufficiently tightened, possibly resulting in the trailer separating from the tow vehicle.

Remedy

Keystone has notified owners, and dealers will properly tighten the mounting bolts for the pin box, free of charge. The recall began on February 28, 2019. Owners may notify Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone’s number for this recall is 19-346.

Redwood MORryde Pin Box

Keystone is conducting a voluntary RECALL notification campaign in accordance with the National Highway Transportation and Safety Act. It has been decided that the vehicles in the recall population have a MORryde pin box that may have mounting bolts that were not properly torqued. Under certain conditions during travel, if the improperly torqued bolts come loose there is an increased risk of failure in the pin box, which could result property damage and/or vehicle crash.

Models Included:	2019 Redwood Fifth Wheels: 3401RL, 3951MB, 3991RD, 3901MB, 3901WB, 3881MD, 3881ES, 388MD, 340RL, 399RD, 395MB, 3951WB, 3981FK, 390WB, 395WB
Serial Number Ranges:	2019 K9340102 – K9340229
Parts Required:	N/A
Tools Required:	– See attached repair instructions from MORryde.

Note – Check serial number on Key Express to verify the campaign is open. Some vehicles were repaired before they left Keystone.

When performing warranty or recall service, please make certain that appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used.

The remedy is to properly torque the mounting bolts for the MORryde pin box.

REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS FROM MORRYDE FOLLOW

MORryde Rubber Pin Box

It has been determined that vehicles in this recall popula on may have pin box moun ng hardware that was insufficiently ghtened. This could lead to an increased risk of personal injury. In order to prevent injury or damage to the vehicle, the moun ng hardware must be properly torqued.

Serial Number Ranges:

2019 Crossroads

Tools Required:	15/16” deep well socket
	Torque wrench capable of 1357-lbs
	15/16” wrench
	Paint marker

Allotted Time: 0.5 hour

Instructions:

Step 1: Disconnect truck from trailer.

Step 2:

Set the torque wrench to 1357-lbs, use the 15/16” deep well socket and torque all 10 bolts that mount the pin box to the trailer frame. Keep the nuts from moving by using a 15/16” wrench.

Step 3:

Use a paint marker and torque mark all bolts.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Keystone RV Company has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain model 2019 Crossroads Redwood Fifth Wheels. As a result, Keystone RV is conducting a safety recall. We apologize for any inconvenience this action may cause you; however your safety and continued satisfaction are of the utmost importance to us.

*Reason for this recall*	It has been decided that the vehicles in the recall population have a MORryde pin box that may have mounting bolts that were not properly torqued. Under certain conditions during travel, if the improperly torqued bolts come loose there is an increased risk of failure in the pin box, which could result property damage and/or vehicle crash.
*What we will do*	Keystone representatives have been in contact with the staff at your selling dealership regarding this situation. The remedy is to properly torque the mounting bolts for the pin box. The service and parts required for this corrective action will be provided at no charge to you.
*What we need you to do*	As soon as possible, please make an appointment to have your RV serviced by your dealership. The labor time to perform this correction is approximately 1 hour. Please ask your dealer if you wish to know how much additional time will be needed to schedule and process your RV for this repair.
*If you have questions*	Your dealer is best equipped to obtain parts and provide service to ensure your RV is corrected as promptly as possible. Please contact Keystone Customer service if your dealer is unable to assist or if you take your RV to your dealer on the agreed service date, and the dealer does not remedy the condition within a reasonable amount of time, or without charge to you. You may be eligible to receive reimbursement if you paid to have the defect resolved prior to receiving this correspondence. Keystone Customer Service is available toll-free at 1-866-425-4369.
