Summary
Contract Manufacturer, LLC. (Contract Manufacturer) is recalling certain CM truck beds, models 171-ALSK, 171G-ALGS, 173-ALRD and 173G-ALGF. The attachment brackets that connect the aluminum truck bed to its steel sub frame are not the correct thickness, which may cause the brackets to crack.
Remedy
Contract Manufacturer will notify the purchasers, and their dealers will install supplemental ¼” brackets to both the chassis of the bed and the deck of the bed, free of charge. The recall began November 15, 2019. Owners may contact Contract

Contract Manufacturer, LLC d/b/a CM Truck Beds (CM Truck Beds), has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in the certain 2019 CM Truck Bed 171-ALSK, 171G-ALGS, 173-ALRD and 173G-ALGF aluminum truck beds. The aluminum angle attachment brackets which connect the truck bed to the sub frame are too thin. The defective angle brackets were used with certain 2019 CM Truck Bed 171ALSK, 171G-ALGS, 173-ALRD and 173G-ALGF aluminum truck beds. If one or several of the brackets fail and goes undetected, the truck bed could shift, tilt or become detached from the sub frame of the truck bed. Should the bed shift, tilt or become detached, it could cause the truck bed to become separated from the vehicle. A failure of the angle brackets could result in accidental damage to include personal injury, death and/or property damage.
Owners will be notified by mail about the recall and will be instructed to contact CM Truck Beds to schedule the required repair. There is no cost to owners for this recall. Dealer should immediately notify CM Truck Beds of the name and address of each person or entity to whom the Dealer has sold or delivered one of the affected truck beds.
Important: Some of the involved truck beds may still be in your inventory. Enclosed as Attachment 1 is a listing of the affected truck beds identified by Serial Number that our records indicate were shipped to you. Please verify purchaser information for each truck bed and provide that information to Contract Manufacturer. LLC as soon as possible. The requested information should be directed to Contract Manufacturer. LLC d/b/a CM Truck Beds, ATTN: Recall Office. 103 Titan Road, Kingston. Oklahoma 73439: [email protected]. Federal law requires you to complete the recall service on those truck beds still in your inventory before retail delivery.
Repair affected truck beds as they are brought into your dealership. Contact CM Truck Beds warranty department should you have any questions regarding the repair at 580564-7537 or toll free at 833-268-7825.
Instructions regarding the repair of the defective angle brackets are outlined in the attached Service Bulletin.
You are being provided with a Repair Confirmation Form, which you are requested to complete for each angle bracket repair you complete. Upon completion of the necessary repair, you are required to return the completed Repair Confirmation Form to Contract Manufacturer, LLC d/b/a CM Truck Beds via facsimile to (580) 564-7491 or via email to [email protected], and upon receipt of the completed Repair Confirmation Form to CM Truck Beds, you will be reimbursed for the repairs performed. CM Truck Beds estimates it will take approximately one (I) hour to complete the necessary repair.
Please be reminded that it is a violation of Federal law for you to sell or lease any of the affected truck beds covered by this notification until this recall has been performed on the affected truck beds. Substantial civil penalties apply to violations of this law.

| SERVICE ALERT: Installation of Supplemental Cross Member Brackets | |
| SCOPE: | Truck Bed Models: ALSI<, ALGS, ALRD, ALGF |
| PURPOSE: | To install supplemental support brackets on cross members to runners. |
| TOOLS and COMPONENTS REQUIRED: | 1 ea Retrofit Kit 1 ea Open end 3/4″ wrench 1 ea 3/4″ socket and wrench 1 ea Clamp 1 ea Drill with 1/2″ short 4″ drill bit or step bit 1 ea Marker |
1. Verify the truck bed was manufactured between 5/1/19 through 9/1/19. Compare ID# to the attached reference list provided.
2. Verify the thickness of the installed brackets. If Material is 1/8″ follow procedure and install 4 supplemental brackets. If Material is 1/4″ noaction required.
3. Select bracket locations based on the bed length listed below

4. Place bracket in position against the flat surface of the cross member and runner.
5. Mark hole location with marker.
6. Drill 1/2″ hole in cross member and runner.
Note: Installed ALSK-xx84xx42 Beds may require a right angle drill to complete this step. Contact CM Truck Beds [email protected] for support if needed.
7. Install the two bolts starting with the top bolt through the aluminum crossmember. Place a washer between the head of bolt and bracket and between crossmember and nut then start the locknut. Then repeat the steps for the steel runner bolt.

8. Using¾” wrench and socket, tighten the bolt to 65 ft lbs. Top bolt first on aluminum cross member and then repeat on the bottom bolt through the steel runner.

Dear CM Truck Beds truck bed Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Contract Manufacturer, LLC d/b/a CM Truck Beds (CM Truck Beds), has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2019 CM Truck Bed 171ALSK, 171G-ALGS, 173-ALRD and 173G-ALGF aluminum truck beds. The aluminum angle attachment brackets which connect the truck bed to the sub frame are too thin. If one or several of the brackets fail and goes undetected, the truck bed could shift, tilt or become detached from the sub frame of the truck bed. Should the bed shift, tilt or become detached, it could cause the truck bed to become separated from the vehicle. If the customer continues to operate the vehicle after noticing any of these issues, the truck bed may become separated from the vehicle and result in a vehicle crash. A failure of the angle brackets could result in accidental damage to include personal injury, death and/or property damage.
Your truck bed has been identified as included in this recall. You are advised not to use the truck bed for any purpose and to immediately contact CM Truck Beds to schedule the required repair. Please contact CM Truck Beds Warranty, Kingston, Oklahoma at 1-833-268-7825 immediately to schedule a repair.
The defect will be remedied by your authorized CM Truck Beds dealer or representative, who will install the replacement angle bracket kits. The work will take about one (1) hours to complete. However, additional time may be required depending on how dealer appointments are scheduled and processed. To make the appointment to schedule the necessary angle bracket repair, which will be performed at no charge to you, please do the following:
Call Contract Manufacturer, LLC toll free at 1-833-268-7825 or our regular phone number at 580-594-5637 for the location of your closest CM Truck Beds dealer, or authorized representative, who will perform the repair. You should call the same number if you have any problem obtaining the needed repair. DO NOT USE THE TRUCK BED FOR ANY PURPOSE.
If you had this repair performed before you received this letter, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for the cost of obtaining a pre-notification remedy of the problem associated with this recall. For more information contact CM Truck Beds at 1-833-2687825.
Upon completion of the necessary repair, the dealer or CM Truck Beds authorized representative will notify Contract Manufacturer, LLC that your truck bed has been repaired.
If you no longer own the subject truck bed, please provide CM Truck Beds with the new owner’s information (if known), either by mail to the address listed above, by email to [email protected] or by fax to (580) 564-7491. If the new owner information is unknown, simply notify CM Truck Beds that you no longer own the subject truck bed.
If you believe that Contract Manufacturer, LLC has failed or is unable to remedy the defect without charge within a reasonable time, you may submit a complaint to:
