The undersized air brake supply reservoir may provide an insufficient air supply to properly operate the brakes during repetitive brake applications, reducing braking performance and increasing the risk of a crash.

Summary
Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain 2015-2016 Aspire and 2017-2018 Insignia motorhomes built on a Spartan chassis. The air brake supply reservoir is less than 12x the combined volume of air for all service brake chambers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, “Air Brake Systems.”
Remedy
Entegra will notify owners, and Spartan service centers will replace the current air supply reservoir with one that has twice the capacity, free of charge. The recall began on February 16, 2018. Owners may contact Spartan Chassis at 1-800-543-4277 or Entegra customer service at 1-800-517-9137.

Dear Valued Customer:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Entegra has decided that certain Model Year 2017 – 2018 Insignia and 2015-2016 Aspire Class A motorhomes fail to conform to the requirement of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 121, “Air Brake Systems”. Specifically, the combined volume of air in all service and supply reservoirs does not meet the 12X combined volume of air for all service brake changes as defined in S5.1.2.1. The undersized air brake supply reservoir may provide an insufficient air supply to properly operate the brakes during repetitive brake applications, reducing braking performance and increasing the risk of a crash.
The Recall remedy is for a qualified Spartan Service Center to replace the current supply reservoir (wet tank) which has a capacity of 500 cubic inches, with one that has capacity of 1000 cubic inches. The remedy may take up to 6 hours. If you paid to have this repair performed before you received this letter, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for the cost of obtaining a pre-notification remedy of the problem associated with this recall.
Please call Spartan Chassis at 1-800-543-4277 opt 0 to locate a qualified service center near you. Federal regulations require that any vehicle lessor receiving this notice must forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within ten days.
If, you take your recreational vehicle to a Spartan Service Center on the agreed service date and they do not remedy this condition on that date or within three (3) days, please contact our Customer Service Department at 800-517-9137. If after contacting a Spartan Service Center and Entegra Customer Service, you are not able to have the safety defect remedied without charge and/or within a reasonable time, you may wish to submit a written complaint to the Administrator, national Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 1200 New Jersey Avenue, SE., Washington, DC 20590; or call the toll-free Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153): or go to https://www.safercar.gov.
