Battery May Move or Fall Out of Compartment
If the battery falls out of the compartment with the trailer is being towed, it may become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Summary
Lance Camper Manufacturing Corp. (Lance) is recalling certain 2018 travel trailers, models 1985, 1995, 2185, 2155, 2295, and 2375. The battery on these vehicles may move within its compartment while the vehicle is in motion, causing the door to open and allowing the battery to fall out.
Remedy
Lance will notify owners, and dealers will install a retrofit strap kit to keep the battery from moving, free of charge. The recall began on March 19, 2018. Owners may contact Lance customer service at 1-661-949-3322.

To Lance Dealers.
It has come to our attention that some 2018 Lance Travel Trailers (excluding Models 1475/1575/1685) could experience a battery compartment door opening during transit. All trailers shipped on or after September 23, 2017 have a battery tray restraint strap installed to prevent this from happening. We have developed a retrofit strap kit that can be added to the existing travel trailers. We ask that you add these kits to your existing travel trailer inventory prior to delivery to the Customer, and for any of your customers that are experiencing this issue. We will be sending a notice to known owners to inform them that the kit is available should their travel trailer need it.
The battery tray strap update kit (Part# PC223 KIT) can now be ordered and will be sent out at no cost. The kit comes with straps for both compartments, all necessary parts and with full instructions. A warranty claim can be submitted (Flat rate code 1602-14TT) for 1.0 hours labor per trailer.
Trailers manufactured with battery doors with wire mesh venting and two latches do not require the strap kit. Trailers with a louver door and one latch may experience the issue.
