IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL

NHTSA Recall No. 20V-231

Wednesday, June 17, 2020

This important safety recall notice applies to your vehicle with the following Vehicle Identification Number (“VIN”):

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

McLareneBay logo Automotive Incorporated (“McLareneBay logo”) has decided that a defect that relates to motor vehicle safety exists in 2016-2020 McLareneBay logo 720S, 2019 McLareneBay logo Senna, 2020 McLareneBay logo GT, and 2017-2019 McLareneBay logo 570GT vehicles. According to our records, you are the owner of one of those vehicles.

WHAT IS THE ISSUE?

McLareneBay logo has determined the noise vibration and harshness foam pad (NVH foam pad) situated underneath the fuel tank can potentially retain corrosive moisture from the environment, which can, over time, corrode the surface of the fuel tank where the NVH foam is in contact with the tank. This corrosion could possibly lead to the release of a small amount of fuel vapour and/or liquid. Fuel could potentially leak underneath the vehicle, which could increase the risk of a fire. The smell of fuel coming from the area around the fuel tank location would act as a warning to the vehicle operator that fuel may be escaping from the tank.

WHAT McLARENeBay logo WILL DO

To remedy this problem, your McLareneBay logo retailer will remove the NVH foam pad from the vehicle (such removal will not have any effect upon the safety of the vehicle). A visual inspection will be completed by a McLareneBay logo technician to determine whether there has been corrosion on the surface of the fuel tank. If the fuel tank is found to have corrosion that could lead to a potential fuel leak, it will be replaced.

This remedy will be performed at no cost to you.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO

At your earliest convenience, please call your McLareneBay logo retailer to schedule an appointment to have the remedy performed. We estimate that the procedure to remove the NVH foam pad and the initial inspection of the fuel tank will take less than one (1) hour to complete.

McLareneBay logo anticipates there will be very few instances requiring fuel tank replacement. If the fuel tank does need to be replaced, that procedure will take approximately four (4) hours to complete. If the retailer is unable to complete the remedy on the day of your appointment your McLareneBay logo retailer will, if needed, offer you alternative transport options until the remedy work has been completed.

If you smell fuel or identify a fuel leak, please call your McLareneBay logo retailer immediately and do not drive the vehicle until the problem has been remedied.
