Summary
Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Sequence and Tellaro motorhomes. The dinette booth seat belts may be too short preventing them from being usable by some occupants. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 208, “Occupant Crash Protection” and 209, “Seat Belt Assemblies.”
Remedy
TMC will notify owners, and dealers will replace the 18-inch seat belt tether with a 24-inch tether on both sides of the dinette booth, free of charge. This recall began September 16, 2020. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC’s number for this recall is RC000198.

Issue:
It has been discovered that on Certain model year 2020/2021 20A/AT Sequence and Tellaro motorhomes, the dinette booth seatbelts may be too short and not fit up to a 95th percentile male. This is a noncompliance of FMVSS/CMVSS 208 & 209. If a person is unable to properly buckle themselves while the motorhome is in motion, in the event of a crash there is an increased risk of serious injury and death.
Parts Needed:
TMC Recall Kit #0480658
Kit Includes (2) 24” female tethers
Tools Needed:
¾” Wrench
Instructions:
Inspect:
- Remove back and bottom cushions from velcro strips on dinette booth.
- Extend the seatbelt all the way out. Measure from the bracket flat along the seat base to end of extension.
If correct seatbelt is installed, this measurement should be at least 45” and no further repair will be needed.
If seatbelt measurement is less than 45”, continue to Step 3 for repair procedure.
Repair:
- Remove screws from base of seat. (Be sure to keep screws to re-install.)
- Remove wooden seat lid.
- Remove outside bolts from female tether portion of seatbelt and replace with a new 24” tether. Tighten to 30ft.-lbs. (Repeat on other side.)
- Be sure belts are sitting in slots at top of back prior to screwing base back on. Screw base back on into its position.
- Reinstall back and bottom cushions onto velcro strips.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Thor Motor Coach (TMC) has decided that a non-compliance which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain model year 2020/2021 20A/AT Sequence & Tellaro motorhomes. As a result, TMC is conducting a safety recall. We apologize for any inconvenience this action may cause you; however your safety and continued satisfaction are of the utmost importance to us.
Reason for this recall
It has been discovered that on certain model year 2020/2021 20A/AT Sequence and Tellaro motorhomes, the dinette seatbelts may be too small and not fit up to a 95th percentile male, which is a non-compliance of FMVSS 208 & 209. If a person is unable to properly buckle themselves while the motorhome is in motion, in the event of a crash there is an increased risk of serious injury and death.
What we will do
TMC has contacted your selling dealer and has instructed them on how to inspect the installed seatbelt length and replace if necessary. This will be done at no cost to you the owner. The remedy should take approximately up to fifteen (15) minutes to perform.

Thor Motor Coach (TMC) decided that a non-compliance which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain models of the below listed motorhomes.
It has been discovered that on certain model year 2020/2021 20A/AT Sequence and Tellaro motorhomes, the dinette seatbelts may be too small and not fit up to a 95th percentile male, which is a non-compliance of FMVSS 208 & 209. If a person is unable to properly buckle themselves while the motorhome is in motion, in the event of a crash there is an increased risk of serious injury and death.
The required action is inspect the installed seatbelt length and replace if necessary. The remedy should take approximately up to fifteen (15) minutes to perform.
Dealers that have stock units impacted by this recall can access the full list of affected VINs sold to their dealership by accessing the “Service Campaign” portion of the TMC Advantage Web Portal. If any unit on this list has been retail sold you are asked to notify the retail owner as soon as possible of this recall because their vehicle was not registered at the time the retail notice was mailed. Please immediately register any retail sold units on this list. As a reminder, you are required by law to complete this recall on any stock units in inventory prior to retail sale. Any vehicle lessor receiving this notice must forward a copy to the lessee within 10 days.
