Summary
Triumph Motorcycles America, LTD (Triumph) is recalling certain Tiger 900, Rally, Rally Pro, GT, GT Low and GT Pro motorcycles. The rear reflex reflectors may detach. As such, these motorcycles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, reflective devices, and associated Equipment.”
Remedy
Triumph will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rear reflex reflectors, free of charge. The recall began August 19, 2020. Owners may contact Triumph customer service at 1-800-232-3780. Triumph’s number for this recall is SRAN 582.

Background Information
Internal investigations have identified the need to replace the rear reflector with a new reflector with larger spigots.
Dealers are requested to replace the rear reflector as described in the procedure below.

Triumph subsidiaries and distributors must instigate a Safety Recall Action in their country in accordance with the national recall code of practice. For vehicles in dealer stock, the safety recall MUST be actioned before delivery to the customer.
Dealers are to prioritise repair of customer owned motorcycles before any unsold motorcycles.

Parts Ordering Instructions
For Triumph Subsidiary and Overseas Distributor dealers using Triumph Warranty On-Line with Parts Auto Ordering Flag switched on: Order all repair parts by submitting a New Prior through the Warranty OnLine system. Entering the above repair code in a New Prior will automatically add the parts required and labour times for this Service Bulletin.
For Overseas Distributor dealers NOT using Triumph Warranty On-Line or for Overseas Distributor dealers using Triumph Warranty On-Line with Parts Auto Ordering Flag switched off: Orders should be placed using the normal parts ordering procedure.
Genuine Parts Return
Dealer to retain parts for 90 days. All parts must be stored in a secure, non-public accessed area and correctly identified with a completed warranty label. Thereafter the parts must be rendered unusable prior to scrapping.
Other Instructions
Once completed, please mark the Service Record Book that the requirements of this Safety Recall Action Notice have been complied with.
Before returning the motorcycle to the customer, download the latest calibration to the engine control module using the current version of the Triumph diagnostic software.

1. Remove the star washers and O-rings.
2. Remove the rear reflector from its bracket.
Installation
1. From the kit, fit the new reflector to the bracket.
2. Fit the two new O-rings and the new star washers.
3. Check the reflector is secure, rectify if necessary.

Triumph Motorcycles Ltd. has decided that your motorcycles may fail to conform to regulation FMVSS No. 108 (lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment). Triumph is conducting a safety recall to address the condition.
The reason for this recall notice:
Your motorcycle’s rear reflex reflector may have the incorrect fasteners and could fall off. If the reflector is missing, affected motorcycles may be less noticeable to drivers of approaching vehicles which increases the risk of a crash.
What Triumph Motorcycles Ltd & your dealer will do:
Triumph Motorcycles Ltd has authorized your dealer to replace your rear reflex reflector free of charge to you including parts and labor. This repair should take around 6 minutes. However, depending upon the dealer’s work schedule, it may be necessary to make your motorcycle available for a longer period of time.What you must do to ensure your safety:
Please make an appointment with your authorized Triumph motorcycles dealer to have this important remedy performed on your motorcycle as soon as possible.
Federal regulations require that any vehicle lessor receiving this recall notice must forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within 10 days.

After learning the rear reflex adaptor for may loosen and become detached on several Tiger 900 models, resulting in the bike not being fully compliant with certain international lighting regulations, Triumph Motorcycles has initiated a voluntary safety recall a ecting a specific VIN range of the following models. We require your immediate attention to rectify the below machines.

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?
This non-compliance relates to the rear reflex reflector as fitted to certain Tiger 900 models, which may become loose or detach from the motorcycle. Detachment of the rear reflex reflector would result in the motorcycle no longer fully complying with certain international lighting regulations.
Detachment of the reflex reflector may under certain circumstances reduce the visibility of the motorcycle to drivers of other vehicles. As a consequence, visibility of the motorcycle may be compromised leading to an increased risk to safety.
WHAT WILL TRIUMPH DO?
To address this condition, Triumph is launching a new recall as described in Safety Recall Action Notice 582.
All arrangements for updating of our computer systems will be completed by 5th August 2020.
Notification letters to current customers will be mailed on August 17th 2020 explaining the action and advising customers to return their bikes to a Triumph dealer to have the modification carried out free of charge to the owner. Customers will be advised to adhere to national Covid-19 general movement and social distancing rules.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
All affected motorcycles are to be repaired in accordance with Safety Recall Action Notice 582.
It is imperative that any owner who has purchased an affected machine be contacted by you immediately and asked to return the machine for modification.
Triumph Dealers should take the following actions:
- Quarantine all unsold motorcycle stock (including motorcycle stock for sale on your website and with 3rd parties) and await details to permit modification arrangements as per the Safety Recall Action Notice prior to any further deliveries to customers.
- Owners of machines outside of the affected VIN range are not connected with this action and may therefore require reassurance.
- Some VINs affected by this Safety Recall Action Notice may also require other bulletin or Safety Recall Action Notice work to be carried out. Please use TriumphOnline to identify all outstanding bulletins or notices and make arrangements to carry out these repairs at the same time.
- This action is likely to increase visitor traffic to your showroom and service areas. Please ensure all arrangements are made to best accommodate them.
- Quarantine all unsold new stocks of rear reflex reflectors (T2700650 and T2707111). Do not sell to customers. Return unsold new stocks under Triumph’s MRN process. New condition T2707111 are now in stock and may be ordered when required.
