Subject: Axle Label Improvement
Dexter
is pleased to announce a significant change to the design and size of identification labels utilized on Sprung and Torflex@ axles. The new label design addresses several customer inputs regarding functionality and legibility, as well as improving adhesion and location. Each is valuable as Dexter seeks to improve the customer experience at a production facility or in the field.
- Length – increase from 5″ to 7″
- Serial number ticket – move from the bottom to a 1 ” removable ticket on the end
- Customer part number – increase from a 12 character to a 20 character limit
- “Mark for” or the customer “ship to ll moves to the top of the label
- Feature call out — increase in size and shift to the bottom center removes the need for an additional “Nev-R-Adjust@” label
- Location – labels will be placed on the rear of the axle tube; positioned towards the frame mount
Please remember the new axle label does not replace Dexter’s long standing practice of etching axle tubes with the Axle Lot Number or CSA certifications. (See PB#350 and Operation Maintenance Service Manual)
The update will be a running change that will begin at Dexter’s Albion plant (P13) in June of 2020.
