Summary
Arcimoto Inc (Arcimoto) is recalling certain 2019-2021 FUV, 2021 Rapid Responder, 2020 Deliverator, 2020-2021 Roadster. Due to a software error, communication between inverters may time out, possibly resulting in an unexpected battery shutdown.
Remedy
A service technician will reprogram the inverter firmware, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 27, 2021. Owners may contact Arcimoto customer service at 1-541-683-6293. Note: Vehicles previously repaired under Recall 19V834 will need to return for the new remedy.

3 BACKGROUND
Due to an unintended software behavior, communication between inverters may time out. If a specific inverter message times out, this will lead to the traction contactor opening, which will lead to unexpected battery shutdown and immediate loss of traction-power, which would make the vehicle more difficult to control and increase the likelihood of a crash.
Phase 1 of the software/firmware update was completed as part of Recall 19V834, (Remedy Recall Instructions RRL0007.) This remedy is the second phase of the software/firmware update to permanently correct the unintended software behavior.
4 OWNER NOTIFICATION
Owners of affected vehicles will be sent a notification of this campaign.
5 CORRECTIVE ACTION
Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to contact Arcimoto to schedule a service appointment to have their inverter software/ firmware reprogrammed. There will be no charge to vehicle owners for this service. To the best of our knowledge, no owners have incurred any costs resulting from this defect.
6 PARTS INFORMATION
No new parts are required to complete the remedy action; updated firmware files.

Safety Act. Arcimoto, Inc. has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain
2019-2021 FUV, 2021 Rapid Responder, 2020 Deliverator, and 2020-2021 Roadster vehicles.
This notice supersedes all previous notices you have received. The previous notice instructed you to have your
vehicle serviced. However, a software bug was discovered. A new permanent software upgrade to correct the
inverters from timing out is now available, your current software in your vehicle will eliminate the majority of
inverter timeouts on a temporary basis. The new software update will not just mitigate the timeouts, with one
wheel limp home mode, it will eliminate the timeouts permanently..

from timing out is available now, your previous software in your vehicle will be sufficient to eliminate the
majority of inverter timeouts on a temporary basis. The new software update will not just mitigate the timeouts,
with one wheel limp home mode, it will eliminate the timeouts permanently.
How does this affect you?
Our records indicate that you recently received your new vehicle or that it was recently serviced for this remedy,
but due to a bug that was found in the software/firmware installed in your vehicle, we asked every vehicle owner
involved in this recall that had their software updated recently to immediately return their vehicle to have the
software reverted back to the original until the permanent remedy is available, free of charge. The permanent
remedy is now available. Please contact Arcimoto.
