REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS:
Replace the propane (LP) regulator with a non-Winn-Tee LP regulator assembly. Due to supply constraints, regulator brands received may vary. In instances where the pigtails (hose assemblies) are not provided with the replacement regulator, please use the existing hose assemblies. Replace the hoses only if necessary.
Dear Grand Design RV
Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Grand Design RV
has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety may exist with the Winn-Tec LP Regulator installed on your recreational vehicle.
! IMPORTANT !
- Your vehicle falls within the recall population.
- You should immediately schedule an appointment with your dealer to have your vehicle inspected and repaired.
- Do Not use your propane system if you detect a strong odor of propane, hear a loud “hissing” sound from your propane appliances, or see a larger than normal flame at the burner tube of your propane appliances.
Why is a recall being conducted?
On 2016-2021 Imagine, Transcend & Momentum Travel Trailers manufactured between July 17, 2015, through December 17, 2020, with a Winn-Tec regulator, an internal seal in the regulator may fail allowing excessive LP gas pressure to reach your propane appliances. What are we doing about the problem?
On affected vehicles, dealers will replace the LP gas regulator with a brand other than Winn-Tec. Grand Design dealers have been notified of this recall and have the required repair instructions available. Replacement part availability is limited due to current supply chain constraints however Grand Design is taking the necessary steps to procure as many replacement regulators as possible. Repair is estimated to take no more than 1 hour. There will be no charge for this service.
What should you do?
Contact your selling or nearest Grand Design RV
dealer as soon as possible to schedule an appointment. If your distance from a Grand Design dealer is significant, please contact us at 574-825-9679 so we can work with you to make other arrangements to have the needed repairs completed.
