Issue:
On certain model year 2017 Challenger
, Miramar, and Outlaw motorhomes, the exterior compartment door skin may be separating from the unit due to potential de bonding of glue. If the compartment door skin were to completely separate while the motorhome is in motion, this could lead to property damage and/or crash.
Parts Needed:
TMC Recall Kit # 0515323
Instructions:
The following procedure is the recommended process established by Mishawaka Sheet Metal on behalf of Patrick Industries in regards to the recall pertaining to baggage doors. After careful research and consideration, the established procedure was decided on based on safety, efficacy and cosmetic appeal.
Inspection:
Visually inspect all compartment doors for potential delamination of compartment door skin. If none is present, inspection is complete and repairs are not needed. If delamination is present on one or more doors, continue to repair instructions below.
Repair: Wedge, Adhesive, Clamp
In this process, when/if a space of delamination is discovered
1. If needed, remove door(s) experiencing delamination from motorhome.
(Only remove if delamination is in area of door that cannot be repaired while still on motorhome) 2. Apply wedges to the space to create a bigger gap.
3. Apply the (recommended) PARTITE 7315 White Methacrylate Structural Adhesive into the gap and remove the wedges.
4. With even pressure, clamp the affected area for the recommended 12 16 minutes to allow adequate fixture time.
5. Allow affected doors to sit for 24 hours in order to fully cure.
6. Reinstall the doors if they were removed in Step 1.
Note: The adhesive used is very quick setting. Please be cognizant of the time spent working with the product. Purge the mixing tip slightly before each use.

1-877-500-1020 NHTSA Recall # 21V-845 Transport Canada Recall # 2021-664 Repair: Wedge, Adhesive, Clamp In this process, when/if a space of delamination is discovered- 1. 4. With even pressure, clamp the affected area for the recommended 12-16 minutes to allow adequate fixture time. 5. Allow affected doors to sit for 24 hours in order to fully cure. 6. Reinstall the doors if they were removed in Step 1. Note: The adhesive used is very quick setting. Please be cognizant of the time spent working with the product. Purge the mixing tip slightly before each use. Any questions? Please call (877) 500-1020 or [email protected]. HANDLING AND PRECAUTIONS: Read Material Safety Data Sheet before handling or using this product. Adhesive com onent A contains methyl methacrylate monomer and always use in a well-ventilated area. Activator component contains peroxide. Both materials must be stored in a cool place away from sources of heat and open flames o sparks. Keep containers closed when not in use. Prevent contact with skin and eyes. In case of skin contact, sh with soap and water. In case of eye contact, flush with water for 15 minutes and seek immediate me ical attention. Harmful if swallowed. Keep out of reach of children. Note: The chemical curing reaction that occurs when components A and B are mI ed generates heat. The amount of heat generated is controlled by the mass and thickness of the mixed produ t. Large masses over 1/2 inch thick can develop heat in excess of 250ยฐF/121ยฐC and can generate harmful, lammable vapors. Large curing masses should be carefully moved to a well-ventilated area where the chan e of personal contact is minimized. DISPENSING EQUIPMENT: Dispensing directly from disposable cartridges or meter- ix-dispensing equipment is strongly recommended. Both methods employ convenient static motionless m er technology. Product supplied in pre-measured cartridges is dispensed from approved manual or pneum tic powered guns. When meter-mix dispense systems are used, care must be taken to assure compatibili between the adhesive components and the materials in the equipment that they contact. All wetted met I components should be constructed of stainless steel or aluminum or have a sufficient thickness of chemic ly resistant material that prevents contact between the adhesive components and the base metal. Contact w h copper, zinc, brass or other alloys containing these materials must be strictly prevented. All non-metallic se s and gaskets should be fabricated from Teflonยฎ or UHMW polyethylene based materials .. MIXING AND APPLICATION: All surfaces must be clean, dry, dust and grease free. Best result will be achieved wit surfaces that have been lightly abraded immediately prior to bonding. Always dispense a quantity of adhesive t start-yp to assure that the adhesive exiting the tip of the mixer is the proper color and is uniform, without str aks. If previously opened or aged material is being used, allow the purged material to cure to assure quality be re proceeding. Carefully dispense a sufficient quantity of adhesive on the substrate to assure that the bond ga will be completely filled when the parts are joined. Allow for squeeze-out at the edges of the bond to assure lling. Carefully secure or clamp parts to prevent joint movement while the adhesive sets. Do not apply excessiv pressure that can cause excessively thin gaps and starve the bond line. Test the curing adhesive at the edg s for fingernail hardness before removing clamps or fixtures. CURING: Working time is the approximate time, after mixing components A and B t at the adhesive remains fluid and bondable. Fixture time is the approximate time after mixing components and B required for the adhesive to develop sufficient strength to allow careful movement, unclamping or e-molding of assembled parts. Parts can generally be put in service when 80 percent of full strength is develo ed. The time to achieve 80% cure is approximately 2-3 times that required for fixturing. CLEAN UP: Adhesive components and mixed adhesive should be removed fro mIxmg and application equipment with a suitable industrial solvent or cleaner before the mixed adhesive c res. Once the adhesive cures, soaking in a strong solvent or paint remover will be required to soften the adhesi e for removal. STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE: Shelf life of adhesive (Part A) is 1 year from day of shipment from Parson. Shelf ife of activator (Part B), including cartridges that contain activators, is 9 months from day of shipment. Shelf lif is based on continuous storage between 55ยฐF and 75ยฐF. Long term exposure above 75ยฐF will reduce the sh If life of these materials. Prolonged exposure of activators, including cartridges which contain activators, above 00ยฐF quickly diminishes the product’s reactivity and should be avoided. Shelf life can be extended by refrigera ion (45ยฐF – 55ยฐF). These products should never be frozen.
