Disconnect the vehicles’ battery Positive and Negative, disconnect any House battery(s) Positive and Negative, if equipped with a generator ensure it is off and lastly, ensure the vehicle is disconnected from shore power. Block any tires/wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling. Failure to do so may result in electrocution, fire or other personal injury, property damage and/or death.

STEP 1: PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSPECTION, AND, IF REQUIRED, THE REMEDY INSTRUCTIONS FROM INTERMOTIVE VEHICLE CONTROLS REGARDING THE PROGRAMMABLE RELAY POWER CENTER (“PRC”).
NOTICE: PHOTOS ARE REQUIRED OF THE PRC.
– IF THE INSPECTION REVEALS THE PRC HAS A DATE CODE OTHER THAN 0919; TAKE A PHOTO OF THE PRC THAT SHOWS THE DATE CODE AND THE LABELS APPLIED TO THE PRC DIRECTLY AND FILE THE PHOTOS AND INVOICE INTERMOTIVE FOR THE INSPECTION. THIS WILL BE COORDINATED THROUGH INTERMOTIVE WARRANTY REPAIR @ 530-823-1048-XT103
– IF THE INSPECTION REVEALS THE PRC HAS A DATE CODE OF 0919; TAKE A PHOTO OF THE PRC THAT SHOWS THE DATE CODE AND THE LABELS APPLIED TO THE PRC DIRECTLY.
o REFERENCE THE INTERMOTIVE REMEDY INSTRUCTIONS LOCATED ON THE INTERMOTIVE WEBSITE ON HOW TO INSTALL THE JUMPER HARNESS;
o THE JUMPER HARNESS WILL NEED TO BE ORDERED FROM INTERMOTIVE.
– ONCE THE REMEDY IS COMPLETE, ANOTHER PHOTO OF THE JUMPER HARNESS INSTALLED AND AN ADDITIONAL PHOTO SHALL ACCOMPANY THE INSPECTION PHOTO SHOWING THE INSTALLATION OF THE HARNESS AND PRC WITH THE DATE CODE OF 0919.

PRC DataLink Stub Harness Installation Instructions
1. CONFIRM DATE CODE: You should have already inspected the PRC modules in your buses and confirmed they have a date code of “0919” and requested and received DataLink Stub harnesses for your affected buses.
• The PRC module is usually installed in the electrical box behind a panel above the drivers head.
• It may be necessary to lift up the red “Do Not Drop”
label on the module to reveal the date code.
• Only modules with this date code are affected. You do NOT need to install this DataLink Stub harness on PRC modules with other date codes.
2.INSTALLATION: Locate the White 6-pin connector on the PRC module and unplug it by pinching the connector tab and pulling down.
• Install the DataLink Stub harness between the existing harness you just unplugged and the PRC module.
3. TEST: Make sure the PRC module functions with the DataLink Stub harness installed. Power up the vehicle and turn on accessories which are controlled by the PRC, such as Interior lights, and ensure they are functional. If not working, check that the DataLink Stub harness connections are fully seated and the inline fuse is not blown. Call InterMotive Technical Support if you need assistance:

Dear Valued Customer:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Intermotive has decided that a defect may exist in certain Programmable Relay Power Center (PRPC) modules, part number S-M1521-XX.
Issue:
These Programmable Relay Power Center (PRPC) modules may have exposed copper which can cause the module to short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire. Our engineering department has identified the modules as having the date code of 0919.
Solution:
We have designed a jumper harness that can be quickly installed to protect the circuit on these modules. This remedy will take approximately 0.3 hours and will be free of charge.
Identification / Action Required:
Buses received between June 1, 2021 and February 28, 2022 may have a PRC module with the suspect date code. If you have received buses within this time frame, please examine the PRC modules to see if they are marked with the 0919 date code. This can be easily identified by looking under the red “Do Not Drop” label on the module. See attached pictures.
If you have any PRC modules with the 0919 date codes, please contact our Warranty department (Jesse Jennings at [email protected] or at 530-823-1048 x103) between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm PT, M-F. We will send you a free jumper harness and installation instructions for any affected modules you identify.
What If You Have Already Paid For This Repair:
You are eligible to receive a reimbursement for the cost of repairs made prior to receiving this notice. Please submit your receipts along with pictures to Intermotive Warranty at [email protected] or by mail to 12840 Earhart Blvd, Auburn, CA 95602. After verification, you will be promptly reimbursed.

Descriptive Information : The time frame of the four failures reported by Forest River were modules that
were installed from 6/14/2021 – 8/30/2021. After analysis by Intermotive
Engineering, it was determined that if two specific conditions occur ( mask misregistration
and contamination are present) dendritic growth could occur and
short the power and ground plains. Both Forest River and Intermotive removed
all assemblies with the suspect date code (0919) by 12/31/2021. The four
defects were found prior to any busses being put in service and are considered
infant mortality. Forest River Identified 1762 buses built in the time frame from
06/01/2021-01/18/2022 . While zero defects have occurred from PRPC’s
shipped to other customers, it was decided that we recall the PRPC’s shipped in
this time frame and provide the solution to prevent the defect from occurring.
Intermotive has identified 453 units shipped within this time frame and could
potentially have the suspect PCB date code

Description of Defect :
Description of the Defect : Intermotive has determined that a small percentage of date code 0919 pcbs
used for the PRPC had mask mis-registration causing exposed copper. Lab
analysis showed the evidence of dendritic growth which caused the short
between the power and ground planes. The failure happened after installation
and prior to the busses being put into service. All four were infant mortality.

Description of the Safety Risk : The power to ground short causes excessive heating and the potential for
combustion. All components are appropriately spec’d to UL 94v0
flammability rating so the chance for combustion prior to the short opening
up is extremely small.
Description of the Cause : Dendritic growth occurred between the power and ground planes causing
thermal destruction of the module.

Descriptive Information : The time frame of the four failures reported by Forest River were modules that
were installed from 6/14/2021 – 8/30/2021. After analysis by Intermotive
Engineering, it was determined that if two specific conditions occur ( mask misregistration
and contamination are present) dendritic growth could occur and
short the power and ground plains. Both Forest River and Intermotive removed
all assemblies with the suspect date code (0919) by 12/31/2021. The four
defects were found prior to any busses being put in service and are considered
infant mortality. Forest River Identified 1762 buses built in the time frame from
06/01/2021-01/18/2022 . While zero defects have occurred from PRPC’s
shipped to other customers, it was decided that we recall the PRPC’s shipped in
this time frame and provide the solution to prevent the defect from occurring.
Intermotive has identified 453 units shipped within this time frame and could
potentially have the suspect PCB date code

used for the PRPC had mask mis-registration causing exposed copper. Lab
analysis showed the evidence of dendritic growth which caused the short
between the power and ground planes. The failure happened after installation
and prior to the busses being put into service. All four were infant mortality.

combustion. All components are appropriately spec’d to UL 94v0
flammability rating so the chance for combustion prior to the short opening
up is extremely small.

thermal destruction of the module.

vendors

efficiently. Intermotive will send a suspected serial number list to our
customers once a formal NHTSA id is provided.
