Summary
ZH Brothers International Inc. (ZH Brothers) is recalling certain Epicord 50-amp Shore Power Inlets, part number 93379. The lug bolts may have been manufactured with excessively hard metal, preventing them from being tightened properly and resulting in a loose wiring connection.
Remedy
ZH Brothers will work with the affected vehicle manufacturers to inspect and replace the 50-amp inlet, free of charge. Letters to manufacturers and distributors were mailed April 6, 2022. Owners may contact ZH Brothers customer service at 1-574-292-7935.

Chronology :
On February 18, 2022, ZH Brothers International, Inc. (“ZH Brothers”) was advised by its U.S. based distributor that it had been made aware of reports that some lug bolts in the 50 amp inlet could not be tightened to the specified torque level. ZH Brothers worked with its distributor which took steps to quarantine the product and ZH Brothers commenced a product review to better understand these reports.
On March 2, 2022, ZH Brothers identified certain batches of 50 amp inlets where the metal used in the lug bolts material did not appear to have been produced to the specified hardness and began to produce new 50 amp inlets with correct lug material.
The investigation found that if the lug bolts could not be properly tightened, there is a risk of electrical arcing in the gaps between the wire and inlet loosens over time. On March 11, 2022, ZH Brothers decided that a safety-related defect exists in certain 50 amp inlets.

material. The investigation found that if the lug bolts could not be properly tightened, there is a risk of
electrical arcing in the gaps between the wire and inlet loosens over time. On March 11, 2022, ZH Brothers
decided that a safety-related defect exists in certain 50 amp inlets.
Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : The recall remedy program will be conducted by the vehicle
manufacturers affected by this issue. ZH Brothers will reimburse for costs
associated with the inspection and if necessary, replacement of the 50 amp
inlet related to this recall.
How Remedy Component Differs
from Recalled Component :
The remedy component will include lug bolts with metal that meets the
hardness specification.
