) is recalling certain 2021-2022 X3-45 Com coach buses. A nut located on the rear junction box may have been improperly tightened, causing a cable to loosen.
Remedy
Prevost
will properly tighten the cables on the rear junction box, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on May 20, 2022. Owners may contact Prevost

Car US Inc. has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2021-2022 X3-45 Commuter coaches. DEFECT DESCRIPTION Power cables found loose in the rear junction box (RJB) on some X3-45 Commuter vehicles. SAFETY RISK Under certain conditions, the loose cables can induce a thermal event. Prevost
has not received a report of death or injury associated with this defect. Therefore, we consider this as a proactive measure to protect the public from the potential risk associated with this defect. IDENTIFICATION OF ANY WARNING THAT CAN PRECEDE None. REMEDY PROGRAM On March 8, 2022, Prevost
has released Special Bulletin SP22-301 to remedy the vehicles potentially affected to ensure the power cables in the rear junction box are properly tightened. We are submitting this recall report to fulfill 49CFR573/577 requirements related to regulatory defect or noncompliance and ensure proper traceability. Car (US) Inc. will reimburse the owner/purchaser for the reasonable amount paid (i.e. the cost of parts, labor, disposal fees and taxes) that addressed the safety-related defect or FMVSS regulatory noncompliance as described in the safety recall notification. To qualify, repairs must have been completed no earlier than one year prior to the release of the safety recall (notification to the government) and no later than 10 days after the last mailing of the initial customer notification letter pertaining to the recall. will execute this inspection free of charge (Parts and labor) for the customers. In case a customer has already inspected and corrected this defect before the safety recall has been launched, this customer will be reimbursed according to Prevost
reimbursement plan. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : There is not a defective component in this case, P/N provided are given for reference on which parts need to be inspected. The defect is due to a bad tighten of nuts on the rear junction box harnesses. What distinguish a bad installation of a good one is the tighten of the nuts.
