) is recalling certain 2022 Crossroads Zinger travel trailers. The furnace vent extension may not have been installed, which can cause carbon monoxide to enter the vehicle living area.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and install the exterior vent panel, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 19, 2022. Owners may contact Keystone
customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone

Zinger Furnace Exhaust Vent
Keystone
is conducting a voluntary RECALL notification campaign in accordance with the National Highway Transportation and Safety Act. It has been decided that the vehicles in the recall population have a furnace vent extension that may not have been installed. If the vent extension is not installed, an operating furnace can draw combustion air/carbon monoxide into the living area leading to an increased risk of personal injury or death.

Note – Check serial number on Key Express to verify the campaign is open. Some vehicles were repaired before they left Keystone

When performing warranty or recall service, please make certain that appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used.
The remedy is to remove the exterior metal exhaust and inspect to see if the plastic vent extension was installed. If the plastic vent extension was not installed, install it and reinstall the exterior metal exhaust vent.
REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1
Locate the trailer on a level, flat, hard surface. Chock the wheels. Turn off the furnace and let cool if running.
Step 2
Remove the exterior metal exhaust (four screws). See Figure 1.
Step 3
Inspect for the plastic exterior vent panel. See Fig 1. If the plastic exterior vent extension is installed proceed to warranty reimbursement. If not proceed to step 4.
Step 4
Install the plastic exterior vent extension KRV # 637124 – Furnace – Vent Panel – Exterior. Seal as indicated in Figure 1.
Step 5
Reinstall the exterior metal vent. Top seal only, top of vent and both sides. Proceed to warranty reimbursement.
Chronology :
3/29/2022 – During a routine audit it was discovered that the exterior furnace vent panel was missing.
Investigation opened. All affected Zinger units were put on hold and furnace vent was inspected.
4/7/2022 – Investigation concluded and scope completed.

representatives have been in contact with the staff at your selling dealership regarding this situation. The remedy is inspect the exterior vent to be sure that the exterior furnace vent panel was installed. If the exterior vent panel is not installed, the exhaust vent will need to be removed and an exterior vent panel is to be installed. The service and parts required for this corrective action will be provided at no charge to you. If the exterior vent panel is missing, the furnace should not be used until the missing part can be installed. As soon as possible, please make an appointment to have your RV serviced by your dealership. The labor time to perform this correction is approximately ½ hour. Please ask your dealer if you wish to know how much additional time will be needed to schedule and process your RV for this repair.
