Note: The repair explained in this document must be performed according to professionally accepted standards. The following picture is a representation of how many legs you will have to inspect. GOOD – washers installed NOT GOOD – no washers Figure 1: leg inspection for washers If flat washers are missing, you will have to install them. If there is a seat leg above the fuel thank, please follow the entire procedure, otherwise, please skip the steps 4 to 13 and 23 to 25. Lower the transmission jack OR 2. Rise the lift Until the clearance is acceptable, or the tank support its own wait. Do not take away the jack. keep contact with the tank at all times. Always keep contact between transmission jack and tank. Step 14 Prepare the 5/8” socket on the impact driver and the 11/16” wrench Preliminary Instructions 2022-06-09 22-091-xxx English rev. 0 11/17 Step 15 Location of the fastener under the bus. Step 16 One person shall retain the nut with the 11/16 wrench. Preliminary Instructions 2022-06-09 22-091-xxx English rev. 0 12/17 Step 17 Location of the fastener in the bus Step 18 One person shall loosen the bolts with the impact driver with the 5/8” socket. Step 20 Install the replacement fasteners with washers added as shown (circled in red). Preliminary Instructions 2022-06-09 22-091-xxx English rev. 0 14/17 Step 21 One person shall retain the nut with the 11/16 wrench. Step 22 One person shall tight the bolts with the impact driver with the 5/8” socket or a standard ratchet between 5 to 10 foot-pounds. Repeat the steps 16 to 22 for each seat legs. Step 24 Reinstall fasteners to hold the tank with the 12” extension and 15mm socket. Step 26 When all the seat leg fasteners with the washers are replaced, verify that nothing is left under the bus. Micro Bird has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in MBII model vehicles, built on GM chassis, year models 2018-2020, manufactured between January 2018, and May 2020, and designed with GenQ seats equipped with Type 2 seat belts. So that we can notify you of recalls affecting your vehicle(s), it is important that you inform us of any change or error in your mailing address, vehicle ownership or status. (Please use the form at the bottom of this letter) In certain vehicles, the GenQ seats equipped with Type 2 seat belts may have been attached with insufficient hardware. If so, these vehicles would not comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards number 207, “Seating systems” and number 210, “Seat belt assembly anchorages”. If a seat is not sufficiently retained, it may at least partially detach from the vehicle in case of impact, increasing the risk of injury to the passengers. To complete this recall, locate the unit(s) in your fleet that appear on the attached List of Recalled Vehicles and order the required parts and download the correction instructions via the GOLs system. For reimbursement, submit claims with supporting documentation to the GOLs system.
