Description of Defect :
Description of the Defect : As stated by Nissan
and Mitsubishi
in 21V957 and 22V027, due to
inappropriate manufacturing process at the supplier, the commutator
and wires in the fuel pump may not be fused correctly during production,
resulting in poor continuity. As a result, the commutator and the brushes in the
fuel pump could wear abnormally in use, causing the fuel pump to be
inoperative. If this occurs, the engine may stall while driving or cannot be
started.

FMVSS 2 : NR
Description of the Safety Risk : As stated by Nissan
and Mitsubishi
in 21V957 and 22V027, if the fuel pump
does not operate, the engine may stall while driving, which
increases risk of a crash
