May 2022 Safety Recall R-2022-1:Incorrect Front Brake Hose on RR-S Models Model Year / Motorcycle Affected: 2022 Beta 350 RR-S, 390 RR-S, 430 RR-S, & 500 RR-S National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Recall Number: 22V325 Dear Beta RR-S Owner, This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Nation Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Beta Motorcycles has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2022 350 RR-S, 390 RR-S, 430 RR-S, and 500 RR-S motorcycles, Your vehicle is included in this recall action. What is the concern? Certain 2022 model year RR-S’s motorcycles were manufactured with an assembly mistake where the factory installed the incorrect Front Brake Hose. Having the incorrect front brake hose installed can lead to the hose not getting enough free play and possibly getting caught onto the speedometer/dash board. This can cause damage to the speedometer/dash board, and possibly disconnect the front brake hose which could lead to injury or harm. What will Beta Motorcycles and your Beta Motorcycle retailer do? Beta Motorcycles is carrying out a recall of the models mentioned above. An authorized Beta Motorcycles retailer will inspect and, if necessary, replace the front brake hose on your unit. There will be no charge for this repair. What should you do? Contact your preferred Beta Motorcycles Retailer and provide the retailer with your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and request a service date to complete the work required under Recall Code R-2022-1. How long will it take? The work will be carried out as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to minimize the inconvenience to customers and is expected to take approximately one (1) hour to complete, although your retailer may need your vehicle for a longer time due to service scheduling requirements and vehicle conditioning. Notified the Factory with the VIN’s and Invoice #’s to help them locate the production run. 3/22/2022: Factory located the production runs that had the incorrect front brake hose installed notified us with a list for us to notify the dealers & customers. 3/28/2022: Received correct front brake hoses to send to dealers. Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : Beta will notify the owners and replace the front brake hose free of charge. Our factory has sent all the replacements to our facility to send to dealers. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : You can tell by the part number listed on the brake hose it will read 29.09108.000 appose to the recalled # 37.36.002.00.00. You can also tell by how the front brake hose connects to the Master Cylinder on the handler bars. The remedy component has a slight bend to the hose where it installs to the master cylinder as the recalled will go straight directly in. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : We notified the factory on 3/18/2021 and they were able to locate the productions that had the incorrect brake hose installed and replaced them all.
