Summary
Oliver Travel Trailer, INC. (Oliver) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Elite travel trailers, equipped with certain 2-burner Cooktops. The burner control valves may become damaged, causing a gas leak.
Remedy
Service Centers will replace the cooktops, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed in June 24, 2022. Owners may contact Oliver customer service at 1-866-205-2621.

Dear Valued Customer,
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Highway Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Oliver Travel Trailer’s has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2021-2022 Elite travel trailers manufactured between August 1, 2020 and May 11, 2022 equipped with certain Dometic Corporation cooktop model PI8022.
The issue is some cooktop burner control valve, mated directly to the control knob via the valve stem, leak gas. While being used the smell of gas may precede any ignition, presence of flame and/or ignition will result in a small pilot flame directly at the control knob.
A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
Your Elite was manufactured within the affected period using this component and is to be inspected to ensure the cooktop is not within the recall population as identified by serial number. Remedy will be by replacement with newer cooktop, free of charge. The replacement unit will be sent with instructions to complete the installation and functional verification by a qualified RV technician. The replacement should take approximately one and one half hours to complete.
Dometic instructs DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE LP GAS WITHIN THE RV UNTIL THE COOKTOP HAS BEEN REMEDIED.

On 5/11/2022 NHTSA (Beth Wolfe) notified via e-mail Kyle Bobo, OTT Purchasing supplier Dometic Corporation recall 22E-021 included cooktop PI8022 with burner control valve damage, may cause gas leak.
Dometic Corporation provided serial numbers for recall. On 5/12/2022 Oliver Travel Trailer placed all PI8022 stoves in containment to verify suspect serial numbers; Resulting quantity eleven P18022 stoves serialized within the Dometic serial range were rejected, removed from stock and quarantined.
On 5/12/2022 Oliver Travel Trailers
and Oliver Sales and Service inspected produced with Elite model campers
with P18022 stoves installed to identify serial numbers within the Dometic suspect serial range; Resulting in no findings.
As of 5/13/2022 all P18022 stoves in our possession have been confirmed to be in compliance based on the Dometic serial numbers information provided.

Each customer will be furnished a written explanation of the issue, how to identify the problem, how to have their trailer inspected and if the issue is present have replaced by authorized service center. will facilitate communications with the customers, Dometic to have documented the steps to install replacement cooktop and will handle the payments for the cost of the inspection and installation. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The defective cooktop stove PI8022 has a serial number range 1109361003460001 – 11093610034600550 or 12393610034600001- 12393610034600550 production Aug 01, 2020 – Jun 30,2021. The remedy requires replacement of the cooktop by Dometic authorized service centers. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : This was corrected immediately in production on all Elite model campers
in assembly, plus finished Elite campers
awaiting delivery. All cooktop stove serial numbers were visually verified, no cooktops were found in production or campers
in stock containing recalled serial numbers. Recall Schedule : Description of Recall Schedule : Once approval of documents is received notification of owners will begin immediately. We do not use dealers. This process will be actively managed to ensure inspection takes place.
