) is recalling certain 2020 ERA motorhomes, equipped with certain 2-burner cooktops. The burner control valves may become damaged, causing a gas leak.
Remedy
Winnebago
will work with Dometic to replace the cooktops, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 28, 2022. Owners may contact Winnebago

REASON FOR THIS RECALL
Winnebago
has decided that a defect related to motor vehicle safety exists on certain 2022 Era motorhomes. These motor homes were manufactured May 26, 2021 through April 27, 2022.
The burner control valve, mated directly to the control knob via the valve stem, may leak gas. This gas will leak directly into the recessed portion of the cooktop, where the knobs and ignitor are located, and may be ignited by the active burner(s). The ignition will result in a small pilot flame directly at the control knob which could result in a fire or injury.
WHAT WE WILL DO
Winnebago
is working with Dometic to provide you a new replacement range if your cooktop is defective. Should you need a new cooktop it will replaced and installed be at no charge to you. This repair will take approximately 1.5 hours
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
Do not use the cooktop until your cooktop has been remedied in accordance with this recall.
To determine if your cooktop is defective, find the CE99-ZF model number and serial number by locating the nameplate on the unit, underneath the cooktop. Label should be visible by opening the galley door and looking up at the bottom of the cooktop. See the two photos below. If your label looks like the photo on the left you will need to check model and serial label (model and S/N are in the area of the red boxes shown on the photo).
Note if you feel uncomfortable doing this you can contact your Winnebago
dealer and they will set up an appointment to verify the model and serial number of your cook top.
- If the S/N is not in the range shown below, please write the model and serial number on the enclosed postcard and mail it back to us.
You are done and free to use your cooktop. - If your label shows a model other than CE99-ZF like the photo on the right please note that model number on the enclosed postcard and mail it back to us.

Our records indicate that some of the product, (“cooktops”), listed below were purchased by your company and may either be in your inventory or have been installed in a RV that your company sells. Dometic Corporation apologizes for the inconvenience that this places on your business and the requirement that you now have, per Title 49; Subtitle B; Chapter V; Part 573; §573.11. § 573.11 Prohibition on sale or lease of new defective and noncompliant motor vehicles and items of replacement equipment. This gas will leak directly into the recessed portion of the cooktop, where the knobs and ignitor are located, and may be ignited by the active burner(s). Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : Defer to Dometic for their remedy reimbursement program. Remedy will be made by replacement/exchange with newer cooktops that are not within the recall population. Remedy replacement will be completed at no cost to the end user. The user will indicate that they have an affected cooktop and supply the serial number information to Dometic Corporation. The remedy replacement unit will be sent with instructions to complete the installation and functional verification at no cost to the end user by a qualified RV technician. Reimbursement to the qualified RV technician will be provided once Dometic Corporation receives the recall response card and recalled unit documenting that the replacement has been made. Units still in inventory at RV OEM’s and dealers will be replaced at no charge with like units.
