) is recalling certain 2022 Kenworth
T180 and 2023 Kenworth
T280 and Peterbilt
535 vehicles. The ABS telltale was not enabled on certain vehicles, and will not illuminate even during an ABS malfunction. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 105, “Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems.”
Remedy
Dealers will perform a complete software update to correct the parameter setting, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 9, 2022. Owners may contact PACCAR

02-01-2022: Paccar
Plant identifies one vehicle which does not have the ABS telltale enabled. Engineering begins to investigate, and identifies the issue is isolated to vehicles with hydraulic brakes, which use different parameter settings. All vehicles at Paccar
Plants held for corrective action. Investigation opened.
03-15-2022: Permanent corrective action implemented. Investigation continues.
04-11-2022: Affected population updated and under review.
06-08-2022: Investigation summarized and affected population firmed.
06-09-2022: Safety committee meeting held. The committee concurs that a safety related noncompliance exists and the affected population shall be recalled.

has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle non-compliance exists in certain 2020 through 2023 Model Year, 536 and 537 chassis built from 11/4/2022 through 1/7/2022. ABS telltale does not illuminate in the digital display during self-test, and does not indicate to the operator any malfunction of the ABS has occurred. This is non-compliant with US regulation FMVSS 105. What is the problem? ABS telltale does not illuminate in the digital display during self-test. What will your dealer do? When the repair procedure and software are available, your dealer will reprogram the affected modules. What should you do? There is no action required on your part at this time. You will receive a letter notifying you when the repair procedure and software are available. Peterbilt

has decided that certain model year 2020 through 2023, 536 and 537 chassis, manufactured during 11/4/2022 through 1/7/2022, fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (“FMVSS”) No. 105 – Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems. The ABS telltale is not enabled and does not illuminate in the digital display during self-test or any ABS malfunction. Unknowingly operating a vehicle with inoperative ABS may increase the risk of a crash. What is the problem? ABS telltale does not illuminate in the digital display during self-test or any ABS malfunction. What will your dealer do? Update the digital display software. What should you do?
