Summary
Roadtrek Inc. (Roadtrek) is recalling certain 2022 Zion, Zion SRT, Chase and Zion Slumber motorhomes. The front seat mounting bolts may be improperly tightened. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) No. 207, “Seating Systems.”
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the bolts, and tighten if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 7, 2022. Owners may contact Roadtrek customer service at 1-888-762-3873. Roadtrek’s number for this recall is 2022-05.

Ram
ProMaster Chassis.
What is the problem?
The front seat mounting bolts may not be marked with green paint indicating that they have been torqued correctly. A loose mounting bolt may not properly restrain an occupant in a collision.
What is the Corrective Action?
Owners are required to inspect the 6 mounting bolts on each of the front seat as shown in the attached pictures. If the heads of the 6 bolts on each front seat are marked with green paint, you do not need to do anything further. Please fill out the attached Corrective Action Completion Form stating that green pain was present and submit this form to Roadtrek Inc. by email at [email protected] or my mail to Roadtrek Retail Support at the address at the bottom of this page.
If there are no green marks on the 6 bolts of each of the front seats, you are required to take your vehicle to your dealer or to the nearest Roadtrek dealer to have the torque checked on all of the 12 bolts. This inspection will be performed at no cost to you and will take approximately 30 minutes. Dealers will be reimbursed for any inspections they are required to perform. The dealer will fill out the attached Corrective Action Completion Form to report whether the green paint was present and if not that the bolt torques were checked and subsequently marked with green paint which includes the request for payment for the cost of the repair.

Chronology :
on Aug 17, 2022 during a final vehicle audit, it was noticed that the passenger seat mounting bolts did not have green marks indicating that the bolts had been torqued to the required specification.
Aug 17 to 19 – All vehicles in production and in inventory were checked to determine if there were any others that were missing torque marks. Several others were found and any found were re-torqued and marked.
Aug 22 to 26 – Quality investigated all of the QARs and inspection audits of vehicles produced to determine if there were any vehicles that had been shipped that might not have had the bolts marked confirming that they had been torqued to specifications. This investigation lasted 7 days and identified 36 vehicles that did not have a visual picture in the QAR confirming that the front seat mounting bolts had been marked as having been torqued and were therefore suspect.

Dealers are to inspect the vehicles in their inventory to determine if the 6 mounting bolts on each of the front seat have a green paint marking indicating that they have been torqued correctly. If there is NO green paint marking, the dealer is directed to check the torque on the mounting bolts as follows: Front two bolts: 17.7 FT LBS +/- 1.77 FT LBS Rear four bolts: 22.12 FT LBS +/- 2.2 FT LBS Once the torque has been checked, mark each bolt head with green paint. Dealer is required to fill out the attached Corrective Action Completion Form to report whether the green paint was present and if not that the bolt torques were checked and subsequently marked with green paint. Any retail customers that are required to do this will have the inspection performed at no cost to them. Dealers will be reimbursed for any inspections they are required to perform.
