Dear Peterbilt
Customer,
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Peterbilt
has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2023 to 2024 Model Year 579 tractor chassis built
from 07/27/2022 through 02/03/2023 and equipped with the Bendix
Intellipark option. The Bendix
Intellipark Tractor Park Valve Module (PVM)
may intermittently become stuck in the un-parked position and may not transition from unparked to parked when the park switch is pulled on
the vehicle dashboard.
An Intellipark PVM that is stuck in the un-parked position does not allow the vehicle spring brakes to exhaust when the operator pulls the park
switch. In order to park the vehicle, the operator must deplete air storage in the air brake system by fanning-down the service brake pedal. If an
operator does not properly fan down the brakes, the vehicle may move unexpectedly, which may increase the risk of a crash.
What is the problem? The Bendix
Intellipark Tractor Park Valve Module (PVM) may intermittently become stuck in the un-parked
position.
What will your dealer do? When the repair procedure and parts are available, your dealer will replace the necessary parts per the
decided repair procedure.
What should you do? There is no action required on your part at this time. You will receive a letter notifying you when the repair
procedure and parts are available.
Peterbilt
Motors Company has initiated this recall to remedy the issue with no charge to you. Currently, the repair procedure is unavailable
to correct this condition. However, Peterbilt
is required to notify customers of the existence of the identified safety defect. You will be
notified by mail when the repair procedure and parts become available.

difficulty in making arrangements for this repair, please contact: Peterbilt
Motors Company, 1700 Woodbrook St, Denton, TX 76205, Attn:

Description of the Safety Risk : An Intellipark PVM that intermittently becomes stuck in the un-parked
position does not allow the vehicle spring brakes to exhaust when the driver pulls the park switch. The vehicle must be parked by depleting air storage by fanning-down the air brake system with the service brake pedal.
