Car) is recalling certain 2022-2023 H3-45 VIP and 2023 H3-45 vehicles. When activating the hazard warning lights, the turn signal lights may not flash simultaneously if the ignition is off. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”
Remedy
Prevost
will update the hazard warning lights software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 14, 2023. Owners may contact Prevost
customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost

DESCRIPTION
On vehicles affected by this recall, the hazard warning lights do not comply with FMVSS 108 S6.1.5.1 because the turn signal lamps do not flash simultaneously when the hazard warning lights are activated with the ignition set to “OFF”.
The issue results from a software development error.
Therefore, a corrected software version that ensures that the hazard warning lights are fully compliant with FMVSS 108 must be installed on all potentially affected vehicles (06100191.P01 for H3-45 and 06100192.P01 for H3-45 VIP).
Please make an appointment in a Prevost
Service Center or contact your Prevost
Service representative to have the vehicle program upgraded. It requires VPG (Vehicle Program Generator) software.
For operators having the required equipment & software, please contact a Prevost
Service representative to receive the vehicle program update file.

2023-02-14 One field report involving one vehicle was received.
2023-02-24 Internal Prevost
investigation was opened to identify the root cause and to determine if the issue is safety related.
2023-03-01 Delivery Stop was issued to stop the delivery of new vehicles until the investigation is completed and corrective actions are implemented.
2023-03-06 Updated software versions that solve the hazard warning lights issue were released.
2023-03-06 Internal campaign (retrofit) was launched to solve the issue on all vehicles in production before being delivered.
2023-03-07 Case was presented on Volvo
Product Safety Working Group (PSWG) to evaluate if there is a potential safety related issue. Decision made to raise the potential issue to the Product Safety Committee (PSC) for review and determination.
2023-03-16 Case was presented to Volvo
Product Safety Committee (PSC). It was concluded that there was a safety related non-compliance and that a recall is needed.
2023-03-20 Non-compliance report submitted to authorities.
No warranty claims related to this issue. No other field reports, incidents, accidents, injury, or fatality were

Park vehicle safely, apply parking brake, stop the engine. Prior to working on the vehicle, set the ignition switch to the OFF position and trip the main circuit breakers equipped with a trip button.
Lockout & Tag out (LOTO) must be performed during set-up, maintenance or repair activities. Refer to your local procedure for detailed information regarding the control of hazardous energy.

PART 1 : MODULE RECONNECTION
1. Remove the entrance electrical compartment panel.
• Unclip the lower part of the panel first.
• Slightly tilt the panel and disengage the upper panel hooks.
• Disconnect the panel harness.
2. Locate the faulty connection.
• Locate the A47 I/OB module in the compartment as shown.
• On the side of the module, locate the J1 and J2 connectors.

3. Reconnect the faulty wire.
• Locate wire J2:7 (J2 middle connector)
• Disconnect J2 connector (see note for correct removal procedure)
• Remove the J2:7 wire using extractor tool 568103 (see note for correct removal procedure).
• Put a label on the wire indicating that it will now be named J1:3.
• Reconnect the wire into J1:3 cavity of the J1 (top) connector.
• Reconnect the J2 connector.

If the bulletin is performed by a Prevost
Service Center, use computer and VPG software for the program revision number upgrade.
If the vehicle operator is having the equipment required to proceed to the vehicle programming, the operator must contact a Prevost
Service representative to have the vehicle program update file sent to him. Refer the representative to procedure shown in bulletin SCI19-20, explaining how to send the file.
PART 2 : REPROGRAMMING THE VEHICLE
1. Connect to vehicle and enter vehicle short VIN (click “SEARCH”) (1)
2. Make sure the vehicle is using an older program number (other than 06100191.P01 for H3-45 and 06100192.P01 for H3-45 VIP). (2)

Prevost
Car US Inc. has decided that certain 2023 H3-45 Coaches & certain 2022 to 2023 H3-45 VIP Motorhomes fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No.108, “Lamps, reflective devices, and assoc. equipment”.
DEFECT DESCRIPTION
On the affected vehicles, the hazard warning lights do not comply with FMVSS 108 S6.1.5.1 because the turn signal lamps do not flash simultaneously when the hazard warning lights are activated with the ignition set to “OFF”.
SAFETY RISK
Turn signal lamps that do not flash simultaneously when the hazard warning lights are activated could confuse other road users, thus increasing the risk of a crash.
IDENTIFICATION OF ANY WARNING THAT CAN PRECEDE
There is no warning with this issue.

Prevost
has released a repair procedure to remedy the affected vehicle population and will reprogram all affected vehicles to correct the hazard warning lights issue. The correction will be provided free of charge for the customers.

Car (US) Inc. will reimburse the owner/purchaser for the reasonable amount paid (i.e. the cost of parts, labor, disposal fees and taxes) that addressed the safety-related defect or FMVSS regulatory noncompliance as described in the safety recall notification. To qualify, repairs must have been completed no earlier than one year prior to the release of the safety recall (notification to the government) and no later than 10 days after the last mailing of the initial customer notification letter pertaining to the recall. Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : Prevost will reprogram all affected vehicles to correct the hazard warning
lights issue. Corrected software: 06100187 Revision P12 (H3-45) and 06100185 Revision P20 (H3-45 VIP). Letters will be sent to customers to inform them on how to proceed. Prevost will execute this correction free of charge (parts and labor) for the customers. In case a customer has already inspected and corrected this defect before the safety recall has been launched, this customer will be reimbursed according to Prevost reimbursement plan. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The remedy component (updated software versions) ensures that the hazard warning lights are fully compliant with FMVSS 108.
With the updated software versions, the turn signal lamps flash simultaneously when the hazard warning lights are activated with the ignition set to “OFF”.
Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production :
The recall condition was corrected in production on March 6, 2023, when an internal campaign was launched. All vehicles in production were reprogrammed with corrected software versions prior to delivery. Recall Schedule :

Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : Prevost will reprogram all affected vehicles to correct the hazard warning
lights issue. Corrected software: 06100187 Revision P12 (H3-45) and 06100185 Revision P20 (H3-45 VIP). Letters will be sent to customers to inform them on how to proceed. Prevost will execute this correction free of charge (parts and labor) for the customers. In case a customer has already inspected and corrected this defect before the safety recall has been launched, this customer will be reimbursed according to Prevost reimbursement plan. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The remedy component (updated software versions) ensures that the hazard warning lights are fully compliant with FMVSS 108.
With the updated software versions, the turn signal lamps flash simultaneously when the hazard warning lights are activated with the ignition set to “OFF”.
Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production :
The recall condition was corrected in production on March 6, 2023, when an internal campaign was launched. All vehicles in production were reprogrammed with corrected software versions prior to delivery. Recall Schedule :
