This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Nova Bus
(US) Inc. has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain Nova Bus
models LFS and LFS Artic and Model Years 2017 to 2022 manufactured from August 2017 to September 2022 equipped with certain radiator fans fuse holder configuration.
Certain affected vehicles may have road debris that could build up on the fuse holder for the electric cooling fans. If this happens, the fuse holder could short circuit and overheat. An overheated fuse holder could create the risk of a fire. During pre-trip inspection and scheduled preventive maintenance, a thermal event in development may be detected by looking at the fuse holder plastic cap for heat damages. Nova Bus
recommends an inspection for debris accumulation in the fuse holder area and cleaning as required. Also, while the vehicle is parked, the manual power disconnect switch can be turned off to de-energized the radiator fan electrical circuit. Nova Bus
recommends that you should inspect the fuse holder for heat damage (melting) before driving and to shut off the manual power disconnect switch when the vehicle is parked.
The service document explaining the measures to be taken to remedy the affected vehicles will be published on Nova Bus
web site https://us.novabus.com/customer–portal/. However, the corrective measure is not yet finalized. We will notify you again when the remedy is ready. Nova Bus
(US) Inc. will covered the parts and labour costs of the repair according to the warranty claim policies in effect. Federal law requires that you forward a copy of this safety recall notice to the lessee within 10 days.
You may be eligible to receive reimbursement for the cost of obtaining a pre-notification remedy of a problem associated with this Safety-Related Defect. Please submit copies of all documentation supporting your claim according to the requirements specified in the “General Plan for Reimbursement of Prenotification Remedies” provided in this notification in Appendix B.

September 8, 2023 Mr. Kieran Bowden Assistant Chief Maintenance Officer – New Bus Project Management Department of Buses 750 Zerega Avenue, 2nd Floor Bronx, NY 10473 SUBJECT: B40666 Mod1 and B40673 contracts – Combustion Engines Radiator Fans Vertical Fuse Holder – delivery stop Dear Mr. Bowden, Nova Bus
has determined a Safety-Related Defect that generated the Safety Recall 23V607. For Diesel and CNG bus models equipped with a radiator fans vertical fuse holder in the engine bay close to the maintenance panel, a Safety-Related Defect was identified recently and requires a remedy. An Interim Owner Notification Letter will be mailed by September 12th to the affected US customers. A remedy is required on B40666A Mod1 (209) and B40673 (135) busses. The Safety Recall 23V607 (MQR-2467) will define the remedy and order parts to cover busses in Service (aways not under the control of the plant) in a timely manner. Also, Nova Bus
has stopped deliveries and will apply a remedy to the busses still at the plant and PDI facilities. The DCP-511173 is the internal process to define the procedure, order new parts and update documentation accordingly. The change will be shown next week on the Golden bus at Plattsburgh plant. We have the goal to get one single fix for production and Service, but MQR-2467 will confirm in October the final remedy in Service. If you have any questions or want to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, Léonard Guillemet Customer Project Manager NOVABUS C: +1 514 996-2550 leonard.guillemet.2@volvo
