SAFETY RECALL – STOP SALE NOTIFICATION.
CERTAIN 2024 – XLR BOOST XLT2114B AND XLT2714M TOYHAULERS
Forest River has decided that a safety defect exists in certain 2024 XLR Boost Travel Trailer Recreational Vehicles. Forest River is recalling the defect model(s) to ensure the safety of our future retail consumers and your dealership. Forest River is issuing a Stop Sale Notice effective immediately. Please access your Home Page on Dealer Connect to verify if your Dealership has units in stock that are subject to this recall. Enter the Service Campaign number referenced above in the “Campaign Search” field, click on the “Campaign ID Number”. Next, select “MY VINS”. Not all Dealers have units in stock that are affected by this recall.
DEFECT/NONCOMPLIANCE:
The taillamps do not meet FMVSS 108 Reflective Requirements.
EVALUATION OF RISK:
An approaching vehicle from the rear may not get the proper indication of conspicuity from the suspect vehicle. Additionally, the taillamps do not meet FMVSS 108.

On November 30, 2023, Forest River’s Office of Corporate Compliance (“OCC”) was by the manufacturing plant that during inventory, it was discovered that the taillamps did not have the correct marking for reflex reflector. On December 1, 2023, OCC opened a research item. OCC asked the manufacturing plant for the inscription on the taillamp in question for review. On December 8, 2023, Forest River’s Corporate Recall Committee voted to recall. A Stop Sale Notice is being issued immediately following the recall filing. Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : Forest River will provide all parts and labor free of charge to Consumers
and Dealers. An authorized Forest River Dealer/Service Center will need to perform the remedy. The remedy will be to install reflector stickers in conjunction with the current taillamps to ensure the required reflectivity required by FMVSS 108 is achieved.

How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component :
The reflex reflectors will be installed to achieve the required reflectivity in compliance with FMVSS 108.

The week of November 30, 2023, the concern was remedied in manufacturing using Red Reflex Reflector Stickers. Recall Schedule :
Description of Recall Schedule : Forest River has the utmost urgency in our recalls. Forest River will send
suspected VIN numbers to our third party vendor that is licensed to pull data on the current owner of the vehicles (as needed) once a formal NHTSA I.D. is provided. Forest River intends on pushing the mailing out as soon as NHTSA provides any correction(s) and an Acknowledgement Letter.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. This notice is also sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Forest River has decided that a noncompliance, which relates to the motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2024 XLR Toy Hauler recreational vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, “Lamps, reflective devices and associated equipment”. Additionally, this non-compliance fails to meet the requirements of Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (CMVSS) number 108 “Lamps, reflective devices and associated equipment”. This is to inform you that your vehicle may be non-compliant with the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations and that the non-compliance could affect the safety of a person.
WHAT IS THE DEFECT/NONCOMPLIANCE?
The taillamps may be insufficiently reflective and do not meet FMVSS 108 Requirements.
EVALUATION OF THE RISK TO THE VEHICLE AND OPERATOR(S) RELATED TO THE RECALL.
An approaching vehicle from the rear may not get the proper indication of conspicuity from the suspect vehicle, and increasing the risk of a crash Additionally, the taillamps do not meet FMVSS 108.
WHAT IS FOREST RIVER AND OUR DEALERSHIPS GOING TO DO?
The remedy for this recall is included with this notification. Forest River has notified dealerships of this recall and have provided them with remedy instructions to install these reflector stickers if you are uncomfortable installing them yourself. You may have the recall corrected at any Forest River dealership. However, it is preferable if you have your selling dealership perform the remedy. If you decide to take the vehicle to a dealership, please make sure to take the enclosed reflectors with you. Forest River completely covers your cost for the remedy; you will not receive any bill of sale for anything covered under the above recall number.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
The reflector stickers are included with this notification. Reflector Installation:
STEP 1: Locate the taillamps on the rear of the vehicle.
STEP 2: Clean the area directly below taillamps with isopropyl alcohol (an area of 6” x 6”); STEP 3: Apply the red reflex reflector directly below the taillamps, firmly press into place. Ensure there are not any bubbles in the reflex sticker. HOW LONG WILL THE REMEDY PROCESS TAKE?
The estimated time of repair is .25 hours. However, the dealership may need to keep your vehicle or schedule an appointment with you for a later date to fit into their regular service schedule.

The Recall shall be considered the utmost priority to remedy the 2024 XLR Toy Hauler in question.
The retail consumer shall not be charged any amount of monies for remedy to their 2024 XLR Toy
Hauler listed under this Recall.
If your dealership has already performed the remedy to 2024 XLR Toy Hauler, your dealership is
entitled to the reimbursement as stated above by filing a claim using the indicated repair code(s).
If the remedy needs to be performed on an out of warranty 2024 XLR Toy Hauler in which the VIN
falls under as stated in the identified VIN listing, your dealership is entitled to the
reimbursement as stated above by filing a claim using the indicated repair code(s).
Notice:
In no manner shall a Forest River Product Owner or Coachmen Product Owner be charged any fee(s) for
scheduling, conduction or completion of the recall. Additionally, all dealership(s) that are
Forest River and/or Coachmen dealership(s) are Federally Mandated to perform the recall once
presented with this recall whether by the Owner or Dealership receipt of this letter, without
denial of service to the Owner. Lastly, denial of a remedy for this recall is a Federal Violation
punishable by law resulting substantial fines and/or civil penalties.
Federal Regulation requires that any lessor receiving this Recall must forward a copy of this
notice to the lessee within ten days. If your dealership no longer owns this vehicle, please
inform the Warranty Manager of the product listed above of the change of ownership.
