Battery Cables Missing Wiring Protection
An electrical short circuit increases the risk of a fire. Additionally, a vehicle fire may require an evacuation procedure in an uncontrolled traffic situation, increasing the risk of injury to passengers.

Summary
Prevost
Car (US) Inc. (Prevost
) is recalling certain 2024 H3-45 and H3-45 VIP vehicles. The grommet that protects the battery cables passing through a metallic panel was improperly installed, allowing the cables to chafe on the edges of the panel and potentially short circuit.
Remedy
Prevost
will inspect and reinstall the grommet, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 19, 2024. Owners may contact Prevost
customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost
’s number for this recall is SR24-12.

Description of the Defect : On certain vehicles, the grommet protecting battery cables routed through a metallic panel may not be adequately positioned. The wiring conductor insulation could become damaged by chafing on the edges of the panel, potentially causing a short-circuit which could increase the risk of a fire.

Description of Remedy Program : Prevost
will inspect all subject vehicles and, if required, adequately
reinstall the grommet. Letters will be sent to customers to inform them on how to proceed. Prevost
will execute this correction free of charge (parts and labor) for the customers. In case a customer has already inspected and corrected this defect before the safety recall has been launched, this customer will be reimbursed according to Prevost
reimbursement plan. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : The issue concerns an inadequately installed component, and not a defective component. After the remedy, the grommet will be adequately positioned.
The recall condition was corrected in production on February 2, 2024, when an internal campaign was launched. All vehicles are corrected prior to delivery. Recall Schedule :
