LED Backlight Circuit Board Failure May Cause Fire

Summary
Highland Ridge RV (Highland Ridge) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Mesa Ridge TT, Mesa Ridge XLT FW, Open Range Roamer FW, Open Range TT, Silverstar TT, and Silverstar XLT FW trailers. The LED backlight circuit board in the cooktop range may fail, causing the board to overheat.
Remedy
Dealers will disconnect and cut the circuit powering the LED backlights and terminate the wiring, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by May 30, 2024. Owners may contact Highland Ridge customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Highland Ridge’s number for this recall is 9904606.

Description of the Defect : The LED backlight printed circuit boards (PCB) are not fully coated. The lack of conformal coating in the connection passages between the layers of the PCB can allow liquid from the cooktop surface to accumulate which could result in a short circuit resulting in the failure of the PCB.

powering all of the LED backlights and properly terminate all of the wiring. The remedy will be done at no cost to the owner.
Repairs made prior to the recall will be reimbursed in accordance with our Recall Reimbursement Plan on file with NHTSA.
Jayco will notify affected retail owners and dealers. Jayco will file completion reports. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : The remedied range will have all of the LED backlight wiring disconnected and cut. The wiring will be properly terminated.
