Summary
Forest River
, Inc. (Forest River
) is recalling certain 2024 Aurora ART26BHS travel trailers. The breakaway switch may be incorrectly wired, preventing the breakaway switch from activating if the trailer detaches from the tow vehicle.
Remedy
Dealers will rewire the breakaway switch, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 19, 2024. Owners may contact Forest River
Customer Service at 1-541-995-34477. Forest River
’s number for this recall is 64-1776.

Chronology :
During a routine Corporate Standards Audit during the week of May 3, 2024, it was discovered that an employee was not hooking the brake-away switch wire to the constant (battery) power side of the battery disconnect switch.
On May 7, 2024, the manufacturing plant found that it had shipped three vehicles suspected to have this condition and contacted Forest River
’s Office of Corporate Compliance (“OCC”). OCC opened a research item.
On May 10, 2024, Forest Rivers Corporate Recall Committee voted to recall.

2024 AURORA ART26BHS TRAVEL TRAILERS
Forest River
has decided that a safety defect exists in certain 2024 Aurora ART26BHS Travel Trailer Recreational Vehicles. Forest River
is recalling the defective model(s) to ensure the safety of our future retail consumers and your dealership. Forest River
is issuing a Stop Sale Notice effective immediately.
Please access your Home Page on Dealer Connect to verify if your Dealership has units in stock that are subject to this recall. Enter the Service Campaign number referenced above in the “Campaign Search” field, click on the “Campaign ID Number”. Next, select “MY VINS”. Not all Dealers have units in stock that are affected by this recall.
DEFECT/NONCOMPLIANCE:
The breakaway switch may not be correctly wired to constant hot. This condition may lead to the failure of the brake-away switch to activate in an emergency.

This condition may lead to the failure of the brake-away switch to activate in an emergency. This condition may increase the risk of a crash.

The remedy for this recall is under development. A second notice will be issued once the remedy is available.

will provide all parts and labor free of charge to Consumers
and Dealers. An authorized Forest River
dealer will need to perform the remedy to wire the breakaway switch properly.
