Summary

Supreme Corporation (Supreme) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Service Body vehicles built on a FordeBay logo Transit chassis. The vehicles may lack the required padded trim that protects occupants from head impact. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 201, “Occupant Protection in Interior Impact.”

 

Remedy

Supreme will notify owners, and dealers will install padded trim, free of charge. The recall began June 20, 2019. Owners may contact Supreme customer service at 1-844-352-4921.

Dear Supreme Truck Body Owner:

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Supreme Corporation has decided that certain model year 2014-2018

Supreme Service Bodies mounted on FordeBay logo Transit Chassis fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 201, Occupant Protection in Interior Impact. Our records indicate that your vehicle(s) identified above may be affected. Supreme is conducting a safety recall to address this condition.

 

What is the Issue?

Certain Supreme Service Bodies were not equipped with protective trim installed on the rear of the chassis cab resulting in a non-compliance of FMVSS 201 U. Due to missing protective trim, in the event of a crash, there is an increased risk of head injury or death.

 

What Should You Do?

Please contact Supreme at (844) 352-4921 or [email protected]. You will be referred to an approved service provider to install protective trim on your vehicle. This work will be done at no charge (parts and labor) to you. This will take approximately two hours to complete.

If you no longer own the vehicle(s) listed above, please contact Supreme’s Warranty Department at (844) 352-4921 or [email protected] and provide any information you can furnish that will assist us in locating the current owner.

Note: Federal law prohibits the delivery ofaffected vehicles under a sale or lease until this issue has been corrected. Federal law also requires that any vehicle lessor receiving this recall notice forward a copy ofthe notice to the lessee within 10 days.

If you previously paid to have this condition remedied, you may be eligible for reimbursement. Please contact your Supreme representative for more information.
