) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Dynamax Isata vehicles. Inadequate warmup protection can cause a lack of oil film on the engine connecting rod bearings while the engine is reaching operating temperature. This can result in engine damage and connecting rod failure, which could potentially puncture the engine block
.
Remedy
Forest River
will notify owners, and FCA
dealers will reprogram the engine calibration software to enhance the engine warm up protection, free of charge. The recall began October 13, 2020. Owners may contact FCA
customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Forest River

– Office of Corporate Compliance (“OCC”) has decided that a defect, which relates to the motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2020 – 2021 Dynamax Isata motorhome recreational vehicles. This is to inform you that your vehicle may contain a defect that could affect the safety of a person.
WHAT IS THE DEFECT/NONCOMPLIANCE?
The Powertrain control module may have engine calibration software that does not provide adequate engine warm up protection.

Inadequate warm up protection can cause a lack of film on the main rod bearing, resulting in engine damage such as connecting rod failure, which may puncture the engine, increasing the risk of a fire.
