All affected units in the recall scope with 50 amp shore power inlets require this remedy. Proceed to step 1 in the Instructions for replacement of the 50 amp shore power inlet. Bulletin Type: Recall Bulletin #(s): 22V-212 Job Code(s): 9901575 Flat Rate(s): .25 Hour – Replace 50 amp shore power inlet Publication Date: May 2022 Make(s): Jayco Model(s): White Hawk TT Model Year(s): 2022 22V-212 50A Inlet Installation May 2022 Page 2 of 3 REPLACING 50 AMP SHORE POWER INLET INSTRUCTIONS 1) Make sure the unit is unplugged and the power is turned off to the inlet at the breaker box. 2) Remove the 4 screws (save for reinstallation) from the inlet from the trailer wall with a Phillips screwdriver. (Figure 1) 3) Pull the inlet out of the wall (Figure 2A) and loosen the nut that clamps the wire on the back of the inlet. (Circled in Figure 2B) 4) Open the lid on the front of the inlet and unscrew the two screws inside with #2 square bit driver (Red Arrows in Figure 3) Fig 2B Fig 2B Fig 3 Fig 3 Fig 1 Fig 1 Fig 2A Fig 2A 22V-212 50A Inlet Installation May 2022 Page 3 of 3 5) Remove the rear safety enclosure from the inlet. (See Figure 4) 6) Loosen the lug nuts with a Phillips torque screwdriver and disconnect the wires from the inlet. 7) Connect wires to the replacement 50A inlet and be sure to tighten terminal screws to 20 in.-lbs. torque with Phillips torque screwdriver (Figure 5) and screw inlet back onto trailer wall. Correct wiring: a. Red to Red b. White to White c. Ground to Green d. Black to Black 8) Repair is now complete and the inlet should sit flush against the foam on wall in Figure 6. Jayco’s sole obligation under our limited warranty is to repair or replace defective materials and/or workmanship deemed our responsibility as determined by Jayco in our sole discretion. Jayco reserves the right to use new and/or remanufactured parts or materials of similar quality to complete any work, and to make parts and/or design changes as appropriate without notice to anyone. Specifically, the lugs for the inlets in two shipment lots were produced using an excessively hard material that may prevent proper torquing of the lug to the required 20in/lbs. FMVSS 1 : NR FMVSS 2 : NR Description of the Safety Risk : If the lugs on the shore cord inlet are loose (not properly torqued to 20 inch pounds) they may cause arcing and overheating. This may lead to a fire and personal injury. Description of the Cause : The supplier produced the lugs using an excessively hard material that may prevent proper torqueing to the required 20 in/lbs. The next day, Jayco received a copy of an email from Patrick industries providing details on shipments of suspect product to Jayco. All units affected on premises were placed on hold and repaired with the recall remedy. On March 9, 2022 this incident was discussed at WIRC and elevated to CPAC. On March 16, 2022 this incident was discussed at CPAC and elevated to SSC. On March 24, 2022 SSC discussed this incident and voted to proceed with a recall. Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : Inspect and/or replace the 50 amp shore power inlet. Repairs made prior to the recall will be handled in accordance with our General Reimbursement Plan on file with NHTSA.
