Summary
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2022 East to West Alta and Palomino SolAire travel trailers equipped with a swing up table/bed base. The base may have incomplete welds that are unable to hold the intended weight, causing the table/bed base to drop unexpectedly.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the replace the swing up table, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 5, 2022. Owners may contact Forest River customer service for the Alta at 1-574-264-6664 or for the SolAire at 1-269-432-3271. Forest River’s number for this recall is 51-1519.

Forest River has decided that a defect, which relates to the motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2022 East to West Alta and Palomino SolAire travel trailer recreational vehicles. This is to inform you that your vehicle may contain a defect that could affect the safety of a person.
WHAT IS THE DEFECT/NONCOMPLIANCE?
Per the component suppliers recall, 22E042: “The affected units with this dinette table may have incomplete welds that do not hold the weight rating required for this unit.” If the welds break, the table could drop down when in the upright or closed position.
EVALUATION OF THE RISK TO THE VEHICLE AND OPERATOR(S) RELATED TO THE RECALL.
Per the component suppliers recall, 22E042: “The table could potentially drop down in the upright or closed position.” Which could result in personal injury.
WHAT IS FOREST RIVER AND OUR DEALERSHIPS GOING TO DO?
Forest River is notifying dealerships of the recall. You may have the recall corrected at any Forest River dealership or service center to replace the table. However, it is preferable if you have your selling dealership perform the remedy. Forest River completely covers your cost for the remedy; you will not receive any bill of sale for anything covered under the above recall number.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
Please contact your dealer immediately and request a service appointment to schedule the free remedy. The vehicle Owner is responsible for arranging to have the work completed. Please state you have been notified by Forest River of having a recall in process for your vehicle and provide the recall number for the dealership. It is also helpful to the dealership to have a copy of this letter when you take your vehicle in for the recall remedy. You may also visit www.forestriverinc.com for dealer locations.
HOW LONG WILL THE REMEDY PROCESS TAKE?
The estimated time of repair is 0.30 hours. However, the dealership may need to keep your vehicle or schedule an appointment with you for a later date to fit into their regular service schedule.

STEP 2: LOWER TO THE “STOW” POSITION;
STEP 3: PICK TABLE UP BY HOLDING ONTO THE BLACK MECHANISM AND THE TABLE TOP;
STEP 4: PLACE TABLE TOP SIDE DOWN ONTO THE BED MATTRESS;
STEP 5: REMOVE ALL FASTENERS THAT ATTACH THE MECHANISM TO THE TABLE TOP THEN SET ASIDE;
STEP 6: REMOVE THE BLACK MECHANISM FROM THE TABLE AND DISCARD APPROPRIATELY;
STEP 7: PLACE THE REPLACEMENT MECHANISM ONTO THE TABLES’ BOTTOM SIDE (SAME SIDE AS PRIOR MECHANISM)
STEP 8: USE FASTENERS FROM PRIOR MECHANISM TO SECURE THE NEW MECHANISM TO THE TABLES’ BOTTOM (DO NOT STRIP OUT THE SCREWS);
STEP 9: ENSURE THE MECHANISM IS SECURED IN THE DOWNWARD POSITION AND THEN HOLD THE BOTTOM OF THE MECHANISM WITH ONE HAND AND TABLE TOP WITH THE OTHER AND FLIP OVER, SETTING ON THE FLOOR;
STEP 10: REDEPLOY TABLE TO UP-RIGHT POSITION, CHECK FOR PROPER FUNCTIONALITY;
STEP 11: CLEAN WORK AREA AND ANY DUST;
STEP 12: CLAIM REPAIR CODE.

Goshen Indiana 46528 Country : United States Chronology : On June 1, 2022, Forest River became aware of the recall from the component supplier. Forest Rivers Office of Corporate Compliance (OCC) began researching production records and shipment dates received from the component supplier to determine all affected vehicles. On June 2, 2022, Forest River was able to identify all vehicles affected in this scope. On June 2, 2022 Forest Rivers Office of Corporate Compliance (OCC) advised the Corporate Recall Committee of this pass through equipment recall.
